Looking forward to it because it couldn't be any worse than IM2 but honestly I can't wait
Top most anticipated 2013 CBMs in no order

Man of Steel
Iron man 3
Thor 2
Kick Ass 2

Thanks for the article! It's all gonna depend on how much Downey asks for when the next cameo/film opportunity comes around...they'll pay him, but they won't go too high...

I'd be very surprised if RDJ quits anytime soon. He was paid a lot of $$ for Avengers (much more than any of the other cast members), plus he's clearly having a great time with the character. Not to mention that he's arguably the most well-known face of the MCU.
marvelstudios - 1/21/2013, 7:40 AM
OMG I cannot wait for this movie. Long live the MCU.
RadicalDuck - 1/21/2013, 7:44 AM
Great article! I'm looking forward to this movie the most this year- I've always been more of an Iron Man fan than Thor, but I must admit that the Man of Steel has me intrigued.

However, I really hope RDJ stays for a bit longer. He is fantastic as Iron Man. Disney/Marvel are sure to throw money at him to make him stay, and it would be weird for someone else stepping into his place in Avengers 2. One things for sure - RDJ will be a hard act to follow!
shamo - 1/21/2013, 7:48 AM
so... just rehashing old concepts eh?

i guess Nolans the only guy that can do a proper superhero trilogy then.
Kayo - 1/21/2013, 7:49 AM
this movie is going to be awesome............can't wait
ATrueHero1987 - 1/21/2013, 7:55 AM
I would be surprised if he didn't return as Tony Stark after IM3. He really loves the character and plus didn't he get paid $50 million for The Avengers?!

MrReese - 1/21/2013, 7:57 AM
How can u recast RDJ? You can bet ur ass "new" Tony won't be as charismatic or as funny as Downey. That man embodies Tony Stark as does Thor & Loki.Imagine if they were ever to be replaced. o.O
Opt1mu5Pr1m4l - 1/21/2013, 7:59 AM
Robert Downey Junior is Tony Stark. He owns that character. I'd be surprised if he hangs up his suite after Avengers 2.
Jaspion - 1/21/2013, 8:01 AM
I don't think Nolan can make a good superhero trilogy, TDKR ruins it. So Iron Man might be the best trilogy.
Jaspion - 1/21/2013, 8:02 AM
I think RDJ will go at least until Avengers 3.
shamo - 1/21/2013, 8:07 AM
well, we're all entitled to our own opinions. but all 3 movies were critically acclaimed. so the general concesus would certainlly agree that Nolans batman is easily the best CBM trilogy to date.
datNAMEtho - 1/21/2013, 8:07 AM
I'm sure RDJ will return for Avengers2 and also Avengers3. Maybe it's time for other Marvel superheroes to take over for the solo films. Maybe Iron Man 4 between A2 and A3 and let A3 be RDJ's latest Tony Stark.

Which, cameo's not counted, gives him on six!!! That's quite a lot!

I think they can recast him just as Bond and Batman, but if they do that.. they have to watch the age.

I'm looking forward to Iron Man3 A LOT, i think they take it into a very good direction. But there's one thing (other than that this was unfortunately shot on digital, which isn't always a bad thing but when the photography isn't top notch it looks like a video which it does...) is that we never got the feeling that the Chitauri and Loki where an actual thread to Tony and the rest of the team.
It's just hard to switch to "accept it all and enjoy the movie" kind of thing to "we want you to feel his emotions and how that affects him" kind of thing...
datNAMEtho - 1/21/2013, 8:07 AM
Seven, whoops!
NYCgeekDad - 1/21/2013, 8:08 AM
I doubt he will be recast. I think RDJ took less money for the avengers upfront, but instead took a backend deal with made him and ungodly amount or money. If they just offer him a nice back loaded deal I'm sure he'll be Stark until he's too old, in which case it would make sense to hand over the reigns.
shamo - 1/21/2013, 8:09 AM
i personally think RDJ should stay Tony Stark in the Avengers but i dont wanna see anymore Ironman movies. he has no villains and their already trying to recreate the 1st movie.
ATrueHero1987 - 1/21/2013, 8:09 AM
I like how Nolan's name was brought up and he has NOTHING to do with this article.smh
AC1 - 1/21/2013, 8:11 AM
After Iron Man 3 Tony could become a full time Avenger/SHIELD liason, meaning no need for more solo movies - clearing up the schedule for the next phase to introduce more heroes, ensuring Iron Man doesn't become stale, and still giving everyone their Tony Stark fix in each Avengers film. Iron Man is a unique character in that RDJ can get older and older and the character can still work on screen as, in his armor, he can work as a CGI creation. Iron Man is the only Avenger who's age isn't much of a concern, within reason.
FilmDork1221 - 1/21/2013, 8:11 AM
As long as Mandarin and Iron Man survive IM3 I'll be happy... Tony Stark needs his own arch-nemesis!
JatevinM - 1/21/2013, 8:14 AM
Considering this man is Tony Stark brought to life I highly doubt we see him quit anytime soon. He loves he character and he loves being around the people that he works with so I doubt he gives that up.
Darkknight23 - 1/21/2013, 8:15 AM
Lmao @ the batman and iron man comparisons.
TheFascinatingMan - 1/21/2013, 8:15 AM
Um... @Shamo

"Just rehashing old concepts"

What was it exactly Nolan did with TDKR?
Darkknight23 - 1/21/2013, 8:16 AM
Hope IM3 makes up for IM2
FrenzyFreak - 1/21/2013, 8:16 AM
Lol LoyalFan for the winnn.
shamo - 1/21/2013, 8:19 AM
@Godzilla: Nah, BB got great reviews. an 85% at RT, higher then all of Marvel Studios movies with the exception of Iron Man and Avengers.
FrenzyFreak - 1/21/2013, 8:21 AM
@Nomis1800 It's false when you say they weren't a threat to The Avengers. Black Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man, and Cap all had near death experiences during the invasion, and even ignoring that they probably all have some time of guilt or emotional problems after letting thousands of innocents get murdered by the Chitauri. That's an important part that most people forget, that no matter what you want to say about the movie, we all know that the streets of Manhatten were filled with severed bodies and pools of blood all over the place, even if we didn't see that (that'd be insanely shocking if they did show that though).
thalidomide - 1/21/2013, 8:27 AM
Nolan's cult followers are unbelievavle lmao!!
ironspider12 - 1/21/2013, 8:27 AM
shamo go suck nolans cock
shamo - 1/21/2013, 8:33 AM
as i said, to each his own. if you didn't like it thats fine. i'm not coming here to push the critics opinons on u or turn this into a Nolan thread just simply saying. we've seen what?... 5 CBM trilogies now?

X-men, Blade, Spiderman, Superman and Nolan's Batman. TDKR is the only one of them to deliver (generally speaking) and not fumble on the 3rd film.

i personally, dont want to see Ironman do the same. so you'll to excuse me when i show dismay at hearing Feige say that they're thematically backpedalling as opposed to progressing. which is something we've seen is possible in a CBM trilogy.
