Forbes Makes A Prediction On How Much JUSTICE LEAGUE Could Make In The Box Office

Yesterday not just the comic book movie industry but the film industry was hit with a bombshell with the announcement that Christopher Nolan will Godfather the DC Film Universe, Zack Snyder will be a part of Godfather with Nolan and directing Justice League but the biggest news could be the fact Christian Bale will return as Batman for Justice League. Everyone was shocked no matter if you loved it or hated it. The dream of a Justice League film for all of us was coming closer and closer and the involvement of Nolan, Snyder & Bale couldn't give us anymore reassurance.

Recently Forbes wrote an very interesting article about the news from yesterday. Forbes made a very big claim about the Justice League movie saying that:

The monetary value of this deal for everyone involved, and for the studio, would be hard to fathom at this point. Consider what Marvel’s The Avengers was capable of with a slate of lesser-known characters whose films never approached the worldwide $1 billion range of Nolan’s Batman or the name recognition (and likely upcoming $800 million or more global box office) of Superman. A Justice League film with this filmmaking team, staring these performers as these characters, and filmed and released in 3D, could have global box office potential of perhaps $2 billion or more.

Let me remind you guys that only 2 films in movie history has made 2 billion dollars. Those 2 films were James Cameron's Titanic which made nearly 2.2 billion and James Cameron's Avatar which made nearly 2.8 billion. The Avengers is third on the all time list with just over 1.5 billion.

Regardless, this is still a very, very bold claim not just say it will make 1 billion but 2. If Justice League could make 2 billion, my only advice to Marvel is to get The Amazing Spider-Man canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and put him in a future Avengers movie. What do you think? Do you think Justice League could now make 2 billion? Comment below. Peace.

2 billion sounds right to me , Batman and Superman are THE Superheroes.

I'm sure Marvel fans will start aflame war, but DC heroes are more iconic.

My parents called them a bunch of Super-Friends and my generation calls them a League of Justice.

if batman can make over a billion on his own than JL can easily pull 2 billion

I don't believe a superhero movie will ever cross 2 billion for quite awhile. However, I do think it could cross the billion mark if good. It would threaten the records The Avengers broke and tied. I personally wouldn't want The Avengers to be topped by Justice League but that's just cause of my inner biased Marvel fanboy.

With Batman and Superman in the same movie together, it's possible.

LOL once again you're acting like Nolan being involved has been officially confirmed when WB probably don't even have a script or solid plans for this movie. Especially when Nolan himself said he had no interest in being involved with this film.

no comic book movie has a chance of making $2,000,000,000.

you want to see a movie pass $2,000,000,000 wait until avatar 2 comes out.

I like how people can predict how much a movie will make based on rumor. This movie has no director, no cast (is Henry Cavill confirmed?) and a script that apparently has been said to be crap.
This article is like saying "Let's make superhero team movie." "Oh yeah, that'll make 2 billion dollars....if we get this, this and this."

Terrible logic here, but whatever. Doubt it'll reach those numbers.

Just make the damn movie WB!

the thing about the 3 highest grossing of all time is that they were thought to be so good that there were return visits by people. people went to see the movie multiple times. if WB [frick]s this up, like they have shown they likely will, people won't pay to see the JL movie multiple times even with the lineup of the heavy hitters in the comics world.

Did Forbes predict The Avengers would make $200m opening weekend? $600m+ domestic and $1b+ international? No? Oh. So how much credibility does Forbes have in this area, aside from none?

No one can even say if Avengers will repeat its box office, let alone JL.

Don't hold your breath on that $2b prediction.

Both Titanic AND Avatar were released in theaters TWICE! Nobody ever seems to make that point... they did NOT make 2 billion in their first release so its not worth mentioning.

I'm more Marvel, but more power to DC. Do a worthy JL! Make $2B. It'll force everyone to up their games.

IM3 will make close to $1B or more. $300M+ domestic, and now that EVERYONE saw The Avengers, Int'l will be $600M+.

I do feel it can make between 1 billtion to 2 billion..
it will have so much damn hype due to the fact that (if) BALE returns and (IF) man of steel is amazing.. which im assuming is without a doubt

Ha, I laugh at this article. Lets get a goddamn confirmation that its happening first, a non-existent movie will not make 2 billion dollars

If it doesn't come out until 2025 (at the rate it's progressing), then I'll go with the $2 billion gross...after inflation. Otherwise, I don't think name recognition is enough. You also have to consider that this may be a more well-known team of superheroes, but many who I have talked to say they're kinda washed up, while Avengers was regarded as an awesome idea by casual viewers even years before the movie's release.

It's time for WB to put up or shut up. Either they are going to make a JL movie or they are not. The smartest move they can make financially in this area is to include Nolan and Bale. If not, just forget the whole thing.

its all about how good the movie is.considering the 1st avengers movie, the sequel should top the first one.(only if it is done correctly!)

$2 billion, huh?! well..i'm pretty sure they could make that figure with only just the world's finest duo of superman and batman..without the other leaguers involved.

however, as one poster pointed out, it's gotta be GOOD, first and foremost. GL was supposed to set things off, when wb probably didn't wanna be dependent on nolan, and when that thing sank, wb most likely BEGGED nolan to stick around and 'godfather' their whole dc properties.

to me, though, they still miss one MAJOR ingredient to the mix...DAVID S. GOYER. he was the one who made sure Chris Nolan got it right with Batman Begins..and he was the one who came up with the initial idea for Man of Steel in the 1st place, which was then taken by nolan to the wb execs. so...Goyer's the KEY. without him, there's just no guarantee to this justice league project's success..or quality (i.e. The Dark Knight RISES).

so..i'd add Goyer to the team..and THAT would be something Marvel's Feige & co. SHOULD worry about.
