JUSTICE LEAGUE: More Shocking Details Emerge About Why Joss Whedon Replaced Zack Snyder
While many fans are hoping that the Snyder Cut of Justice League will be announced at Comic-Con, some new details have emerged about the behind the scenes chaos which plagued the DC Comics adaptation...
Yesterday, we learned that Geoff Johns will take on a very different position within Warner Bros. as a writer and producer. However, the news led to Vulture senior editor Kyle Buchanan Tweeting out some behind the scenes information about the role the prolific comic book scribe played in Justice League.
As you can see, Johns' involvement throughout production - which saw him contribute multiple rewrites - clearly frustrated original scribe Chris Terrio and led to him complaining and pointing out, "Maybe try using some of my pages?" When Zack Snyder screened his first cut of Justice League to Warner Bros. execs in 2017, they weren't happy, and that led to even more chaos behind the scenes.
Scrambling to come up with a version of the movie they were happy with, a number of writers and directors were brought in to discuss the project and it was ultimately Joss Whedon who won the job...unfortunately, not even The Avengers helmer could save the superhero ensemble at that stage and it obviously ended up being something of a mess (with some questionable, mouth-related CGI).
