Possible 'Justice League' Film Official Announcement Coming Soon?

Could it be true? Will an official announcement of a 'Justice League' movie be coming next month? Or casting announcement for 'Man of Steel'? Check It Out!!

iFanboy.com (by way of HeroComplex) is reporting that next month at the HeroComplex Film Festival. Geoff Johns & Jim Lee will be attending & will be at the screening of Richard Donner's 'Superman' & 'Superman II' (Donner Cut? who knows) but they will be making a 'HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT" concerning Superman and/or the DC Universe on film.

Superstar comics creators Geoff Johns and Jim Lee say they are bringing bombshell announcements about the future of Superman and the entire DC Universe to the Hero Complex Film Festival on June 11.



Could it just be about the comic event FLASHPOINT & the rumored renumbering of all the titles after the event is over? Being as Johns & Lee are involved it's likely..but the site also mentions this:

On the film festival website it says of the panel: "...special appearance by DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, discussing the big-screen future of the DC Universe."




What do you guys think? Could it be an official announcment for a 'Justice League' movie? Or maybe an official green light for 'The Flash'? Or maybe...well we'll have to wait till June (unless the news leaks) to find out what DC has up their sleeves.

bet it will just be about after flashpoint or something. hopefully they will say the man of steel and gl will be the first 2 films heading towards a jl movie. but it wont happen

If its a FILM festival, I would hope the news relates to film.

At this point, however, I would MUCH rather have the big news be about Warner Bros. keeping Superman than about a JLA movie which would have to go without him.

You will be lucky just to get a FLASH movie finally greenlighted. Much less the enitire Justice League. Expect a slate of animated movies soon to be announced. =)

lol.. I'm just teasing.. Of course Flash and Wonder Woman movies will be much welcome and LONG overdue.

I hope they deconfirm the film or say it's in future work however they need to work somethings out and eliminate the whole batman getting rebooted again thing.

I HOPE HOPE HOP HOPE it's an announcement that says these 3 things:

1) JLA movie IS happening (with plans for a summer 2014 opening)
2) Green Lantern movie is the starting point of this epic team up, followed by Znyders Man of Steel and the rebooted Batman franchise
3) They announce a standalone Flash movie that also will tie into the JLA movie to be released in 2013
****a Wonderwoman movie may be necessary, but honestly I just don't know if it will do that well at the box office. They would have to cast her perfectly and have a truly amazing script to make this successful financially

It would be really hard to wait 3 whole years for a JLA movie once they announce it, but this is the only feasible timeframe in which they can release all the necessary single hero movies and tie them together (unless a Flash movie is announced for a 2012 release, freeing up 2013 for JLA movie


Despite all this, as much hoping and wishing I will do, I doubt this is going to be the announcement...sadly :(

DC has been such a mess over the past decade with films (aside from the Nolan Bat films and this new GL film)....Marvel had the vision from years back to bring the Avengers together on the big screen and they methodically planned out how they were going to do it, DC/WB has refused to do the same and it's frustrating as all hell.

If it does happen they should cast Welling in the justice league film since so many superman fans are upset he never actually wore the suit in the series finale of smallville, besides it should be a separate universe from Snyder's film anyway.

Yeah I agree, not having Bale and Cavill is ganna be ass.

Bales the only guy that I wanna see behind the cowl and I really cant wrap my head around the idea of having Cavill be Supes for one film and then being completly recast for the JL film. Reynolds is a shoe in but I think if he does it we can kiss Deadpool goodbye which will suck.

I personally only wanna see a JL film if they do build up movie like Marvel did. I dont think they need a Bats or Supes film to start it up since basically everyone knows who they are and would seem pretty redundent to give them yet another origins movie. I think if GL doesnt have any shout outs to other DC heros their pretty boned for getting the ball moving. If Gl doesnt have anything they could start the universe with Flash, Aquaman (possibly), and Wonder Woman all with little nods to Bats and Supes starting a team at the end. But if they just go into the film with everyone teamed up its not ganna fly well.

a JLA movie would be awesome!! it very well may be cavill in the suit tho.

could also be a nod towards a GL sequel or possibly some more animated films.

i truly hope however that with Geoff Johns, DC can finally bring some big screen hits. Nolan's bat flicks have been good (even tho i still don't like Bale as Bruce/Bats) and successful so i can see WB wanting to capitalize on that as well as DC needing to step their big screen game up to compete with Marvel. what i don't understand is why they can't get together and work this out. WB has the rights to all of the DC characters i can think of that would be in a JL film and it shouldn't be so hard to do...they just gotta do it. Marvel has their main Avengers rights but we will probably never see a New Avengers flick or any teams that deal with Spidey, the X-men, F4 teaming up with any of the current Avengers unless Marvel were to get their rights back.

If a JLA film is announced,it could come together like this.
1. Green Lantern is the kickoff film like Ironman for Marvel. We get a number of easter eggs such as the possible Central City nod and perhaps the scene of the ring nearly selecting Henry Cavil's Clark Kent appears in the film.
2.Man of Steel reveals the first public appearance of Superman who must don the cape to battle Zod.From the Green Lantern trailer we see the scene of Dr.Waller talking about the first confirmed extraterrestrial over Abin Sur's dead body.Clark kent is still traveling the world during the events of Green Lantern making Hal Jordan the first Super powered hero. GL's absence from Man of Steel can be explained by Hal being in space on Corps business such as training on OA or patroling sector 2814.

3.Green Lantern 2 and the Flash are green lighted for 2013.

4.JLA green lit for 2014.This is where we get existing Flash,Superman and GL actors along with new Batman,Wonder Woman,Aquaman and Martian Manhunter actors.
This Batman could be cast with input by Nolan with an eye on him being the post Nolan Batman in the Batman series.The other new characters (Aquaman and Wonder Woman)could get spin offs depending on how the public reacts to them in JLA.

Snyder has already stated that the JLA movie will not involve Nolan's Superman and Batman. It's a good thing because GL shouldn't have a more imposing physique than the Man of Steel in a Justice League film.

@Deadshot if they cast Welling they have to cast the same Justice League in order to avoid continuity complaints, and then it'd basically be Smallville the Movie featuring Batman and Wonder Woman. And there'd be no good villains left since Doomsday and Darkseid are done (poorly)
Just keep the current film cast. If not, Matt Bomer for Superman, he looks similar to Cavill and almost got the role in Returns
