Stephen Amell Talks About ARROW And THE FLASH Crossing Over Into JUSTICE LEAGUE

With a DC cinematic universe finally moving forward, one of the biggest questions has been whether or not the TV side of the DCU, like Arrow and The Flash, could crossover with the films. Arrow star Stephen Amell weighs in on the possibility in a new interview.

Now that we're seeing a DC cinematic universe, which began with Man of Steel, will expand with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, and take full form with Zack Snyder's Justice League, many of us have been wondering what that means for DC's burgeoning TV universe. We have Arrow on The CW, with The Flash arriving in the fall; along with Gotham over at Fox, and Constantine on NBC.

In a recent interview, Arrow star Stephen Amell weighed in on his thoughts of crossing into the DC cinematic universe at some point, possibly in the Justice League movie:

"You know what? I don't know. I think the people that watched the Flash pilot that have seen it and saw the scene where Grant and I interact -- and he's not even in his costume -- a lot of people were like, 'that feels like the Justice League.' And I thought it felt like the Justice League, too. I don't know if we'll eventually cross over into the movies but that being said, we don't need to. The important part is that Arrow and The Flash are able to stand on their own and be appreciated for what they are and the medium that they are in."

"If they wanted me to be in the Justice League movie and it worked out, that would certainly be something that I would be interested in. That being said, my most important and crucial priority is making [Arrow] Season Three better than Season Two."

As much as I would love to see Amell as Green Arrow in a Justice League film, I'm glad that he's focusing solely on the TV show for now. Honestly, I doubt that the TV and film universes will crossover, and as he said, they don't really need to. It might be better for the fans if the two are allowed to co-exist separately, rather than either of them having their hands tied by what the other is doing (a la Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.)

Would you like to see Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin as Green Arrow and The Flash in Zack Snyder's Justice League? Let us know in the comments below.

He has point. People who scream for shared universes cant seem to enjoy anything without them being connected. I prefer amazing quialty stand alone, than good quality shared universes.

If only fans of the show would understand this.

Booyah. As long as these products can do justice by themselves, I'm fine.

No no no crossover.

Like I said on the other Arrow article. SHIELD has some great episodes but it feels mostly like it's the MCU's bitch. The show has to become second string to the movies whereas Arrow and the Flash do better/will do better on their own separate from the movies because it gives them a lot more freedom.

I think it shouldn't cross over just because if it did then the shows would be in a position of having to acknowledge things such as Metropolis being destroyed etc...

Making season 3 better than 2 is a tall order

I like how he says they can stand on the their. Because I don't want these shows to merge with BvS.

I'm fine with Amell being made canon as long as Grant is retconned and forgotten about completely. Decent actor, poor casting in my mind.

@0mega

Careful, you're speaking heresy right now. Be more happy, spam positive adjectives and gifs left right and center.

...

Personally, though I don't want the Universes to cross due to what I see has massive quality differences, if they suddenly tie their Universes together, they will have to inconvenience themselves by writing around each other. Arrow will have to limit itself a lot by writing around the films and the films will have to do the same and also be accursed with actors they themselves may not like in the roles and want to recast.

Keep dreaming. Gustin does not look like a movie Flash to me.

Actually, I kinda like Amell, he could probably hold his own (not the first season of Arrow, yikes re: his acting), but seeing the two with Cavill and Big Ben, not sure about that...

As someone once said, though fans practically orgasm over the smallest character from the comics coming on screen or reference like Carol Ferris and the action, a lot of the character are ones people don't care for too much. Did anyone really care for the sister when she was abducted? Interesting scenario but would there be any sadness over her death over than shock that the show runners decided to kill the character off?

I met this guy last year
Very cool guy and is a bigger fan of Green Arrow then I thought
You don't need a show to connect in order to be good.
Arrow pretty much set up its OWN DC universe

If they do connect universes, cool. If not, I can see that too. They've (DC) already established some kind of animated universe, a TV universe, and the upbringings of a rich cinematic universe. It's a legit take on their material as opposed to marvel, who has linked their tv and cinematic universes. The same way DC has apparently opted to "run before they crawl" by building their universe in bulk instead of sever origin films first. Incorporating television characters into a feature film would be genius because origins don't have to be "forced" onto the big screen..either way, DC has a solid platform. Id love to see universes intertwine, but I respect each as a standalone as well. I'm game.

Even if I would like 4 it 2 happen, I'm o.k with it being its own universe.

It's great & smart to stay focused on the tv shows but it could be done having them in a JL movie..that would be cool.
How & why would that take away from the shows or films? Amell is capable of it,not sure of Gustin yet.
Movies occur years apart so it's possible to write & schedule Green Arrow (his real name) & Flash in that franchise.
