In Empire Magazine's Man Of Steel easter egg round up, there's one that everyone may have missed that Pertains to Batman. no.. Not the Wayne Ent. Logo. Click here to find out

Empire magazine conducted and easter egg round up a few days after Man Of Steel was released and there's one that has confirmed that there is an active Batman in this Universe. no.. Not just Bruce Wayne, his superhero alter ego.. The Batman himself is referenced in the Office when Zod first acquires his heat vision. In the Corner somewhere, there's a poster that boldly states
"KEEP CALM AND CALL BATMAN"

Of the easter egg Snyder had this to say
"You might even have to stop the movie to see it but it’s definitely in there. That’s a Double Negative Productions [Easter Egg]. D Neg is the visual effects company here in London that worked on all the Dark Knight movies, and they definitely did that. And [when I saw it], I was like, ‘That’s awesome."

There's more on the original article that even includes a nod to The Hulk! of all things.. go to the link provided for more.. so what do you think? Justice League nods or just fun props?

UPDATED ONE YEAR LATER: I guess DC knew what they were doing the entire time. In addition to the existence of Batman being canon now, other easter eggs have paid off in the form of Star Labs leading to Cyborg, Lex Luthor finally having a physical presence in this universe and hell, some who still believe those whales were a reference to Aquaman are reinforcing this belief with the rumored involment of the character in the film. WB/DC seems to be far ahead in their plans than we think.

DC call me.

I'm happy because my JL plot that is canon to MOS has Batman existing for 3 years while Superman for 18 months since by story takes place 18 months after MOS.

Thank you for this Snyder.

Wait, a Hulk Easter egg? What is it?

Damn Marvel, DC is doing more with Hulk then you are.

A nod to my favorite Marvel character in a DC film. [frick] yea.

@LEVITIKUZ

No offense, but I'm sure they have plenty of capable writers.

Gayer is not a capable writer.

From the writer of Blade 3 and those Nick Cage Ghost Rider films.

MOS & TDK Trilogy had Nolan's influence.

Love Snyder but he should just direct films. Don't let him in the writing room.

Was trying to think of a left field choice to 'Godfather' the DCMU (sounds better than DCCU)...

How about Ronald D Moore? He has a similar (if not better) TV pedigree than Whedon but has that hard and dark edge which WB seem to be going for... the guy is supremely talented.

Might write an editorial about this.

Whedon is only Avengers. Feige's in charge of the MCU.

I say Bruce Timm but don't let him have so much control. Let the directors cast the characters and the directors do the story but have Timm look over the stories giving tips, make sure everything makes sense and sounds great. You get what I mean?

So if Batman is referenced in this film so directly (hidden, obviously)...

Then that completely screws over Clark Kent who's too afraid to come out and display his power. If there were hero's before Superman, what is his excuse for "hiding in the closet"?
That means he let his dad die for no reason.
Was he protecting his identity? He told the General he was from Kansas! Are you telling me not one cell phone got a picture of him during the mass destruction?

Goyer is a horrible, hack writer.

I hope the sequel will be handled by a different creative team.

Frick the WB for not having the balls to even announce a Man of Steel Sequel. My prediction, Justice League movie.... expect it in the spring of two-thousand never.

Goyer is awesome. He's a pretty good writer, but that's not why he's awesome. He's awesome because he has been dancing geek to geek his whole career. He's literally our man on the inside. You cant y the same about Nolan or even Whedon. Their egos as artistes are too big (Whedon never used to have an ego, but I don't see how even somebody as humble as Joss can not have a huge-ass ego after Avengers). But Goyer has always put the material before himself. He's a bard.

These easter eggs will never mean something if Warner doesn't announce and plan more DC movies. Let's hope that WB announce at least a Man of Steel sequel in Comic con.

No thanks.

No way to Grant Morrison.

And that is simply one of the greatest Easter Eggs *ever*!

I can't see how ignoring Batman Begins or The Dark Knight would be a good idea, at all. TDKR is a little more flexible.
Either way, it seems rather official, now, that Supes is not the first hero in the DCCU. This gives a little hope for World War II to be included in a Wonder Woman movie.

Also, why does everyone on the internet say that Dr Emil Hamilton works for StarLabs, in the movie? I've seen the film three times, so far and I've still not heard a StarLabs reference. I heard them say he was from DARPA, though, first time I saw it. Which would be the Cyborg reference that was said to be in there.

I think it's funny they did the little hulk Nod. When Superman gets on the roof, the white sign with green writing reads "106 days since last accident" then Zod hits him against the sign and the 1 and 6 fall off leaving it to read "0 days since last accident" Snyder thought it was just something cool for fans but nothing pertaining to DCU

And after all this they Keep saying Nolanverse is standalone

I think this is just a joke cameo, not confirming that Batman exists before.
JayJayCAW

just re-watched it.....that poster is not there unless its among the falling debris, its not on the walls or computer desks or a screen saver.....nothing.

Now if it is in this movie, I highly doubt it means anything, it would mean the same amount as the Christopher Reeve cameo in The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 movie, its just a nice little nod, thats it.

"Trust me. When I post the complete story you will."

Still don't trust. The samples of dialogue I've seen from you weren't too impressive. Unless you're just talking about a basic plot, which anyone can write a decent plot. Actually turning it into a compelling, page-turning screenplay is a whole other story. And making that something that is so good that a studio wouldn't change one word? Impossible.

But knock yourself out.
