JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Gal Gadot Talks More About What Happened After Joss Whedon Verbally Abused Her On Set

Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot has talked more about her clash with director Joss Whedon on the set of Justice League, revealing that she immediately went to Warner Bros. higher-ups despite his threats.

While specific details have never been fully revealed, it's been alleged on multiple occasions that Joss Whedon's conduct on the set of Justice League's reshoots was beyond unacceptable. It's previously been claimed that he threatened Gal Gadot's career when she questioned certain dialogue and creative decisions, specifically in regards to the way he wanted to sexualise the Amazon. A body double was ultimately used for that infamous scene where the Flash falls on top of her.

Back in May, the Wonder Woman star said that Whedon "kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable." Now, Gadot has elaborated during an interview with Elle

"I was shaking trees as soon as it happened. And I must say that the heads of Warner Bros., they took care of it," she explained. "Going back to the sense of righteousness that I have...you’re dizzy because you can’t believe this was just said to you. If he says it to me, then obviously he says it to many other people. I just did what I felt like I had to do. And it was to tell people that it’s not okay."

"I would’ve done the same thing, I think, if I was a man. Would he tell me what he told me had I been a man? I don’t know. We’ll never know," Gadot continued. "But my sense of justice is very strong. I was shocked by the way that he spoke to me. But whatever, it’s done. Water under the bridge."

To elicit this sort of reaction, Whedon must have spoken to the Diana Prince actress in a way that wasn't even close to being appropriate. Why he would behave like this after helming two Avengers movies and being given the chance to "fix" Justice League is hard to say, especially as it's become a big part of the reason he's been blacklisted in Hollywood and is unlikely to helm another blockbuster.

We're just glad to hear Gadot found a way to make sure Whedon was forced to answer for his behaviour on the set of the critically panned 2017 movie.
