After Missing Out On Flashpoint Batman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wants To Play "Badass" LOBO

We know that a Lobo movie is currently in development but that's seemingly been the case for years now so fans aren't exactly letting themselves get excited over the version which may or may not be directed by Michael Bay. However, someone who would be open to playing the character is The Walking Dead star, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Here's what he had to say about the character recently.

"The only one I want to play is DC and Lobo. He’s badass," he revealed during a recent Q&A session at Walker Stalker Con. "Marvel, I don’t know, everyone that’s in it is pretty good. I feel like all the greatest characters, they’re working." However, when pressed for which Marvel character he'd play, the actor indicated that he would be open to taking on the role of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic.

That would definitely be fun to see, especially as the Fantastic Four are on their way home to Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe! His co-star Norman Reedus, meanwhile, was also there and mentioned Ghost Rider and Silver Surfer as being two
character he would be interested in. After they've clashed in the world of The Walking Dead, it would be fun to see them in the MCU one day...

He was one of the highlights in rampage for me. I think they missed out on this guy. He could have been the older Batman they wanted.

@DarkArrow19 - before Batfleck was announced and after BvS was announced, I was pushing hard on a few different sites and social media platforms for JDM for older Bruce. Missed opportunity. It was bittersweet when they announced him as Thomas Wayne.

@DarkArrow19 - and in my imagination, when I picture the BvS that could have been with JDM as Bruce, I just honestly feel him and Cavill would have had better chemistry and JDM could have exhibited all the dark qualities Zack wanted Batman to have so much better than Affleck did.

@ArthurFleck - I think he would have been the perfect DCEU Batman opposite Henry Cavill. He has a natural swag and rage to him that could really personify Bruce and Batman. While I love Batfleck, i think it’s noticeable that he’s not really in it considering how his life has been since BVS was announced

@ArthurFleck

“all the dark qualities Zack wanted Batman to have so much better than Affleck did.”

Idk. Affleck played a great pissed off Batman in BvS. Him and Alfred shared some of the best scenes.

Justice League neutered him and Affleck seemed checked out. He was good in BvS though.

@regularmovieguy - I never said Affleck did a bad job. I am just of the opinion JDM would have done it better. But who knows, my opinion is based on my imagination so its definitely bias. But I agree Affleck did a good job in BvS and was one of the better parts of the movie. Still think JDM would have done better and perhaps even lessened some of the hate thrown at some of Batmans darker character traits because I feel like JDM kinda naturally exudes that darker aura and vibe. Idk, I may be way off in reality, but it's just what I think.

Reed Richards, huh. I think he could work, but he might be a bit "too cool" for it judging from everything he's done. But he could really pull it off if we're jumping straight into the franklin/valeria era.

@AbidNaga - Ya but dude just said, "The only one I want to play is DC and Lobo."

Why are we discussing him playing Reed Richards? Why is there nothing about how he would be as Lobo?

I've actually stuck up for Josh Wildong before, but this is trash.

I hope he somehow plays Thomas Wayne as Flashpoint Batman one day. He's honestly been my favorite casting choice in the whole DCEU because of that possibility.

For marvel, I think he would be better for Ben Grimm than for Reed Richards.

@Lebaguette - if they go older definitely, or just have him do mo cap like hulk and thanos and skip the origin maybe?

I was a huge (HUGE) DC fan my whole life until the last few years. Between the bad decisions in their films to the bad decisions in their comics, I have zero interest and even less hope that anything DC puts out will be good. Marvel > DC and it makes me cry to say that.

@duncboy - I'm on the same page :/

The movies suck ASS, comics are too expensive, and scott snyder's batman is over. King's series isn't nearly as good as I hoped it would be. Too silly.

Maybe one day I'll check out metal, but as for right now, I really don't give a [frick] about anything DC.

YES PLEASE! He'd literally be perfect!

Also imagine: Quentin Tarantino as the director!
