Alice Eve Is Still Keen On Landing A Role In A Marvel Movie
Despite her multiple casting near-misses, Alice Eve has revealed that she's still very much interested in playing a Marvel character on the big-screen while promoting her role opposite Chris Evans.
When Alice Eve abandoned her Emma Frost role in Fox's X-Men: First Class back in 2010, she was reportedly being courted by Marvel Studios to play the Enchantress in The Avengers. And while that rumor evidently failed to pan out, the British actress later fell into contention with Haley Atwell to play Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger. And despite missing that opportunity as well, Alice Eve has revelaed that she's still interested in playing a Marvel character; especially since she's now worked with Captain America himself, Chris Evans, in his directorial debut Before We Go.
During a recent Before We Go Q&A with Film Fad, Alice Eve was asked about the abovementioned Marvel casting misses and whether or not she'd be up for playing the Enchantress (who's rumored to appear in Thor: Ragnarok), or any other character. "You know I’m a huge fan of the Marvel movies," she said. "They obviously are hugely important in our society right now and the ability to kind of innovate cinema has been amazing. I think everyone into them should be grateful for them for reviving such an interest in it. It’s like a cult following on a massive scale now with these movies. So yeah, I’m a huge fan of theirs and I think Kevin [Feige] is an incredibly talented man who has turned this thing around. So, yeah if the thing was right, I’d love to talk to them."
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has certainly changed and expanded since Alice Eve's name was being linked to roles, so there are several characters that Marvel Studios could consider her for. Besides the aforementioned Enchantress, there's also Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, and potential roles in the Spider-Man reboot, Inhumans, and certainly Captain Marvel. What do you think?
