'Phase 2' Tease On MARVEL'S Delayed 'Phase 1' Box-Set; Plus See Alternate THOR Ending

The 10-disc set was put on hold in September due to a lawsuit over its packaging but will go back on pre-sale later today, for release on April 2. EW has some details on what we can expect from the bonus features, and that includes 'Phase 2' footage!..

Fans are now eagerly awaiting the second slate of Marvel's cinematic output - dubbed 'Phase 2' - which will consist of Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers 2. We have already seen the trailer for Iron Man 3 but it seems we can look forward to the debut of even more footage from some of the other movies on that list. While speaking to EW, Kevin Feige remained tight lipped on the specifics, but did reveal that we will see “footage, concept art, and a few new surprises. Also, the Marvel Pres continued, "look for a nod to Iron Man 3 in the Tony Stark S.H.I.E.L.D. file in the box set.”

As if that wasn't enough, the set will also include previously unseen deleted scenes from each of the past films, and EW have excluively revealed the following alternate ending to Kenneth Branagh's Thor. No embed, so click on the image below to see it..

I was hoping for alternate Earth scenes were Thor actually learns a lesson of humility and Jane isn't a horny science nerd that throws herself at a shirtless Thor.

New Thor ending is better,

but Thors appearance in Avengers still completely negates any heartfelt emotion from this.

Finally! A release date! April 2 is so far off, but it's better than not knowing when it's coming. Here's hoping digital copies are included this time around.

The deleted scene of Thor replacing the diner lady's mug (after the scrambled eggs scene) should have been left in.

Heck, why did no one think of having Thor help the local carpenter or something? You know, with a regular *hammer*? Odin did say a hammer could be used to destroy or build.

Little touches like these would have sold his transformation to a caring individual better.

The deleted scenes were some of my favorite scenes of Thor -- Thor and Loki talking before the ceremony, the extended version of Thor convincing the others to go to Jotunheim, the Warrior's Three arriving on Earth. Makes me wonder why the editors cut them out.

I was watching some of the deleted scenes which would have made the movie make more sense, especially Loki talking to the guard before the group took off to Jotenheim.

Yup, Thor ended up being disappointing, so these deleted scenes would have helped. Junk 10 disc box set, money grab only..

@MyInnerDork - Ant-Man is part of Phase 2, as it was announced as such before it even got a release date. And they still haven't said anything about it shifting to being the beginning of Phase 3 even after the new release date. So Phase 2 it is.

I have no idea what dark magic is. Why it wasn't even described in the first Thor is beyond me. I mean they knew avengers was coming out, why write in the script that thor gets trapped but not really in Asgard?

smh, Thor didn't use dark magic to get back to earth, his father did. Also, like Loki said in Thor, there are other ways to go to different realms besides the Bifrost bridge. I don't see why dark magic has to be fully explained but...

I thought Ant-Man was set to come out just before Avengers 2 but perhaps I was mistaken.

If I am mistaken, then it should be put out before A2. Damn it!!!

Alright...April 2nd.

I'm now going to to predict that someone will make an April Fool's joke about getting their box set early and there is a Guardians of the Galaxy trailer in it.
