Sam Jackson still has some creditability left in him, so MAYBE he could be a strong enough force for a S.H.I.E.L.D movie. Aslong a Scarjo, and Renner are in it then I'm cool with it

A SHIELD movie is unnecessary.

poster: I hate the idea of all Marvels heroes working for SHIELD.

I think it all depends on the significance Shield plays in Avengers. If they play a prominent role in the movie, then people will want to see more of what they do. If we aren't impressed with Shield in Avengers, we won't be seeing a Shield movie.

I'm betting there is a falling out between the Avengers and Shield in the films, like at the end of the first couple of Ultimate runs. Shield won't be totally setting the agenda.

A movie could be great if they did it right. Nothing wrong with an espionage movie featuring super technology. They would need to pull more from the 616 universe, however. Both in story and in Fury's behavior, attitude.

No matter how good it would be, i'd wait for it to hit the 2/10$ bins. Not interested in the slightest.

Tea- Yeah, i really don't know what they're thinking. SHIELD is best left in the background, not the spotlight.

if they do a solo movie of nick fury who will be the villain?

It all depends how they approach. If the treat it like a tactical movie like SWAT with SLJ and Renner it could be good. Or it could be like GI Joe, XXX that SLJ was in too, it could really suck. But I don’t see it being a movie that pulls in hundred of millions. But on a reasonable budget with a good story, it cool be a cool movie to kick start a 2nd avenger movie. You could have a smaller time villain in it that works for big time villain in it, have the big time villain hiding in the shadows till the late like ten minutes. And at the end only the off the movie have SLJ say something like “Call in the avengers, cause there is some mother fcuking snakes on this plane!”

Tea- To me, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot on this. Unless maybe... they're thinking of making a "Samuel L Jackson" movie and calling it SHIELD, thinking that Sam still sells on his own at the box office. Maybe their right but i sure as hell haven't lined up for a Sammy movie in ages. So i personally don't see the point in this. They could invest in a much better franchise like... The Inhumans or something...
MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 8/9/2010, 6:50 AM
Shaman - Yeah, they could (and should) branch out to Inhumans or something, but the pieces for Shield are already in place. It would be relatively easy to get it made.

The way it would keep me interested was if it was decidedly NOT a superhero movie. Much more straight spy/tactical like LuvInMiLyfe was saying. Play it straight (you can still do it SLJ). ZERO GI Joe'ness.

i don't think a s.h.i.e.l.d movie would work at all,its better the way they're being shown in the likes of ironman & thor.
they ain't strong enough charactors.

just an idea.
iron man 3-iron man teams up with captain america & some shield agents to take on someone like a.i.m or hydra.

I hate the Ultimates comics for various reasons. The main one being that they operate as SHIELD yes men. I would hate to see a super powered group with Gods among their ranks that took orders from any government agency.

Working with is one thing, working under is a different beast entirely. And yes, I realise that it will be SHIELD bringing them together. I just don't want them taking orders for an entire movie.

There is a reason I didn't put a SHIELD logo or Nick Fury on my Avengers movie poster. They are not Avengers. ;}

Yeah, I have to agree with the majority that a S.H.I.E.L.D movie would be completely unnecessary. There are piles of other characters I'd rather see Marvel get on with making...Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Heroes For Hire to name just a few! :P

HAWKS: I love The Ultimates but I completely agree with your point. It was interesting to see them being deployed to places like the Middle East by S.H.I.E.L.D but it's not something I want to see in The Avengers! Hopefully Thor will shed some more light on what their role will be as they seemingly feature prominently in that movie.

Mass- Well, that's true. Maybe they're trying for easy money. But even with Sam included, i haven't seen a decent and FRESH spy film since Mr & Mrs Smith. The spybiz has lost its luster for the moment, IMO. But who knows, they could blow our socks off. I hope they will... for they're sake.

Hawks- Great point!

i could watch a shield movie, but it would be more interesting to look at the hero's and find a bit more about shield each time, but a heli-carrier is a must!

i'd also like a fight scene on it!

Well, LEEE just doesn't like Ultimates in general. I do think that the majority of his hatred is an act. He has been at it for about a year now, and I think he has a secret crush for SLJ.

Or he just does it for laughs.
