GODZILLA VS. KONG: Epic First Trailer Promises That One Of These Iconic Titans WILL Fall

Well, this definitely isn't what we were expecting.

The first trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong has been unleashed by Warner Bros., and given how the movie is being marketed here, it feels a lot like the MonsterVerse may have just been mashed up with Fast & Furious!

As you can see below, humanity decides to take Kong from Skull Island because Godzilla is out of control and something needs to stop him. However, only a little girl is capable of directing the giant ape, and it appears we now know which of these iconic Titans will be the antagonist (Godzilla) and protagonist (Kong). Say what you will about the plot, but the action is undeniably epic.

HBO Max seems like a good fit for Godzilla vs. Kong, though not seeing those visuals on the big screen will definitely hurt. A synopsis for the crossover event has also been released:

Legends collide in Godzilla vs. Kong as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.  Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond.  But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe.  The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.

Kong bows to no one!

Godzilla under some kind of mind control? They’re definitely teaming up and taking down another threat.

Still, Team Kong 🦍

@Cbmfilmjunkie - Godzilla is being framed by MechaGodzilla. Not joking.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - my guess is it's either Jonah's terrorist group from King of The Monster's mind controlling Godzilla or it's mechagodzilla framing godzilla like in the 70's movie.

@noahthegrand - They hint at it in the trailer, but I'd say Godzilla knows about or senses something bigger the others don't know about, and that threat is gonna become obvious to everyone as the plot goes on and they'll realize they were misunderstanding Godzilla as their enemy. But I don't think he's being framed per se or mind-controlled.
