Hallelujah! Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS Will Be Rated R
It's been revealed on a ticket stub that Ridley Scott's Prometheus has been rated R. Even though Spain rated the film "18" many American fans were still worried that they would receive a watered down PG-13 movie.
Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With 'Prometheus', he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
To many this isn't too much of a surprise as Spain a few weeks ago gave the film an "18" rating which is the equivalent of an R rating in the United States. But for me it's a bit of a surprise since I am so accustomed to films succumbing to the pressure, and becoming generic PG-13 movies.
So, get your asses to the theaters and see this movie. This is a huge opportunity for moviegoers everywhere to send a message to Hollywood that you don't have to make a snuff film about Jesus just to have a successful R rated film.
