A final trailer for The Matrix Resurrections has to be close with the movie's December release date fast approaching, but for now, we'll have to make do with some very nice new shots of stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss for the latest issue of EW.
The long-time friends and costars cover the latest issue of the mag, and you can check out a candid interview with the pair along with a batch of new stills for the movie here.
In addition, an international TV spot has been shared online which contains a few snippets of new footage. Quite a lot of it has been recycled from the first trailer, but there are some fresh shots of Neo which suggest that we might be getting flashbacks to the first film.
“The Matrix Resurrections is a continuation of the story established in the first Matrix film… 20 years after the first film, the franchise that helped define pop culture at the turn of the century is back for a continuation and extension of the original movie. A mind-bending new adventure with action and epic scale, it’s set in a familiar yet even more provocative world where reality is more subjective than ever and all that’s required to see the truth is to free your mind"
Other franchise returnees include Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson. Also joining the cast will be Andrew Caldwell, Priyanka Chopra, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen Hollman, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Christina Ricci, Max Riemelt, and Brian J. Smith.
The Matrix Resurrections will be released in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously on December 22.
