Timecrimes director Nacho Vigalondo is in the process of shopping his latest project at Cannes, and it sounds like it has the potential to be another brilliant oddity. The movie is called Colossal, and according to THR's description, it's about a despondent woman named Gloria who somehow conjures and then psychically controls a giant lizard (not Godzilla, apparently) that begins laying waste to Tokyo. "In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world."

Definitely sounds... interesting anyway. Plus, it's got Oscar winning actress Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar) on board in the lead role.

Vigalondo says this is his “most ambitious script so far, and probably also the most personal one.” The movie is being financed by Voltage Pictures, and we'll keep you updated on its progress.
