Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is now in theaters and if you've seen the movie, you'll no doubt understand why everyone is raving about it and why it's already the favourite to win an Oscar.

Now, some concept art from the critically acclaimed animated adventure has found its way online and this batch puts the spotlight on designs for characters like Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, The Prowler, and Doc Ock (in regards to the latter, there are potentially some spoilers here).

It shouldn't surprise you that for such a visually unique movie, the artwork used to come up with these characters is every bit as amazing...and spectacular! There are some great pieces here and The Prowler, in particular, really stands out from the crowd.

So, to take a look, all you have to do is click on the "View List" button down below!

The Prowler

This is a really cool take on Prowler, a villain who fans are hoping could arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day after Donald Glover played the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming

The Prowler plays a key role in Into the Spider-Verse and his story arc, while possibly familiar to comic book fans, takes some surprising twists and turns during Miles Morales origin story.

Now, that's a very cool looking motorbike! The visuals in this movie were really unique and Sony found a cool way to create a vehicle for Prowler that matches his personality in a big way.

The Prowler is a hero these days and while he's certainly not up there as one of Spider-Man's greatest foes, he's got a storied history which would be great to see play out in live-action as well.

A great piece of artwork, The Prowler's role in Into the Spider-Verse is great fun and the way he's portrayed is bound to frighten younger viewers as he comes across like a total badass.

Doc Ock

This is actually Doc Ock's final design in the movie and, well, it's a little different to what we expected, right? It worked really well within the contest of Into the Spider-Verse, though.

When Doc Ock is first introduced, we're completely unaware of who she really is and the reveal comes as a huge surprise. These alternate designs shed some light on the before and after.

The battle between Peter B. Parker, Miles Morales, and Doc Ock is great fun and the new design for her tentacles is not only really cool but also makes sense as they're like proper octopus arms!

Spider-Man

These spectacular shots of Spider-Man show the wall-crawler leaping through the Big Apple and were presumably used to figure out how the wall-crawler would look in this animated setting.

Miles Morales

Sony did a great job of creating a diverse lead in Miles Morales for Into the Spider-Verse and this is a very cool shot of the youngster seemingly being confronted by the older Spider-Man.

Spider-Men unite! We don't know if Peter B. Parker will return in the sequel but it would be awesome to see these two working together again, especially as they grew so close here.

He has a cape! This alternate take on Miles' first costume is a lot of fun and far more unique than the suit he donned for his first comic book adventures (a Spidey costume with kneepads, basically).

This gorgeous piece of concept art shows the inexperienced Miles Morales swinging through New York City with Peter B. Parker in tow for one of the funniest scenes in the entire adventure.

Before seeing the movie i thought the after credit scence would bring Tom Hardy in to the fold. He is technically from another universe. However Sony was able to top that and I applaud them.
