Disney XD debuted the first clip from their new Marvel's Spider-Man animated series last week, and now they've released the first proper teaser.

The promo sees Peter Parker donning his homemade costume to put a stop to any bad guys he happens to encounter while prowling the rooftops of NYC. While the good citizens will eventually be grateful to have a superhero watching their backs, it looks like "Bug Boy" is going to have to put a bit of work in before his chosen moniker becomes embedded in the public consciousness.

Marvel's Spider-Man doesn't have an official premiere date just yet, but it will aur at some point this summer.

Unfortunately, from the footage we've seen, this looks to be even more silly than Ultimate Spider-Man was.

@tazmaniak - Well it is Disney XD... they make it for kids

@tazmaniak - they should've just brought back spectacular Spider-Man for a season 3. That show hit all the right beats

could someone provide me with an answer: why do some people choose the movie to be not available for other countries ? Or is it YT fault ?
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 6/12/2017, 9:06 AM
@jerryblake - It's usually the uploader. The only logical reason for it is because they're horrible human beings.

@jerryblake -
It's not always the uploader's decision. Often, when you upload copyrighted material to YouTube, it will automatically be blocked in certain countries if detected. It's like how, if you try to upload an entire movie without editing it, it will immediately get deleted.

Often, YouTube blocks it if it's copyrighted.

If the market for this animated series is 10-year-olds so Disney XD can sell advertising time to candy manufacturers, then mission accomplished.

@GeneralZod -
They said this was going to be a show for "both old and existing fans to enjoy", but that was clearly a marketing lie. They should at least have the guts to admit it's for children, like Ultimate.

@Darkknight2149 - Is there a show on Disney XD that isn't made for children?
Darkknight2149
Darkknight2149 - 6/12/2017, 9:36 AM
@Kman -
Star Wars: Rebels is for both children and adults, but even that show has episodes that are only made to pander to younger audiences (though, since Season 4 will be the final season, they said that there won't be anymore of those filler episodes).

@Darkknight2149 - all im saying is... the second you saw it on Disney XD that should have told you everything you needed to know. The channel is aimed primarily for kids 6-14.
Darkknight2149
Darkknight2149 - 6/12/2017, 9:46 AM
@Kman -
I would be willing to accept that, if:
A) They hadn't cancelled Spectacular Spider-Man to make way for Ultimate Spider-Man
B) They hadn't gotten our hopes up by cancelling Ultimate, then promising a replacement show that's for "both old and existing fans" and then released another children's show

I didn't think it was possible to make a adaptation worse than Ultimate Spider-Man but they may have managed it.

Looks like we'll never have a great Spidey cartoon again. 90's Spiderman and Spectacular set the bar so high to be fair. But oh well.
Darkknight2149
Darkknight2149 - 6/12/2017, 9:41 AM
@KWilly -
I completely agree with you there. It's like how every future Batman show (animated or otherwise) is doomed to be compared to Batman: The Animated Series.

Even if we never get a show as good as the 1990s show or Spectacular, I'm still hoping there is another Spidey show that's, at least, good. Maybe one of these days...
KWilly
KWilly - 6/12/2017, 9:47 AM
@Darkknight2149 - At least there have been a few good Batman cartoons. Beyond, Brave and the Bold (sometimes), The Batman, and Beware the Batman. Cartoons in general just aren't the same these days
