AVENGERS: ENDGAME Actor Jeremy Renner Publicly Calls Out Sony Over SPIDER-MAN Situation

We still haven't heard from Kevin Feige, Tom Holland or anyone directly involved with the Spider-Man franchise from a creative standpoint, but Avengers: Endgame star Jeremy Renner has now weighed in...

Sony Pictures released a statement after news of the Spidey situation went public, but the only person from the other side to weigh in is someone that's not even directly involved with the solo Spider-Man franchise.

Avengers: Endgame's Jeremy Renner, who plays Clint Barton/Hawkeye in The MCU, shared a social media post late last night, and wasn't shy about expressing his feelings on the matter. It seems the actor is just as pissed off that Peter Parker will no longer be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the rest of us, and actually asks Sony to give the character back to Marvel.

We think Sony should comply unless they want an arrow through the eye socket!

Joking aside, the studio is unlikely to even respond to this, but it is interesting that Renner is the only one from the Marvel camp to comment. Hopefully a Disney representative - or better yet, Kevin Feige - will respond soon so we can get a more complete picture of how things fell apart.

You hero Renner!

More people need to speak up about this. Both Sony and Disney need to reopen negotiations.

The thumbnail is gold, leave it please.

The complain is stupid and he should know it, this isn't Sony taking Spider-Man out of spite. There is a two parts negotiation that can't reach an agreemant satisfaying enough for both.

Still hoping they can get that middle ground and keep this thing running. If they can't, maybe they can find a smart way to pull Peter in the Venomverse.

This is how it starts. Fans get mad, and celebs follow suit. Tom Holland has already unfollowed Sony accounts on Instagram, so he's pissed. I bet the PR people in both Disney and Sony are like...

And rightfully so.

Sony is the worst. Always has been. They are a Japanese company with no sense of honour. Whether they are aping Nintendo, turning down cross play, making obtuse non-consumer friendly electronics, or producing the worst movies in Hollywood.

Sony has always been shit.

I'm sure they'll work something out. No one wants to say buh-bye to another billion dollah movie.

Plus now that the news is out and Sony's taking all the fire with their stock prices taking a dip, these negotiations will be all the more fast tracked.

How things fell apart? Nothing fell apart. The contract expired. It's not a big deal. Disney will rent him again in a few years for Secret War. None of this is unexpected or ruins anyone's plans.

@RageDriver2401 - That stock price dipping thing was literally fake news from Jeremy Conrad. Sony stock was up 1.6% this morning, Disney stock was down 0.4%.

@GeneralZod - I mean... it is unrelated news. People know that, right? Individual film rights are a tiny, tiny, tiny percentage of these huge companies. Disney is going to set the all time record for film grosses in a year, and yet their stock may take a hit from down trends in all of their other areas of interest. Sony losing the producing partner on their most successful franchise isn’t good news, but it’s not going to drive the stock price either way when films aren’t even their main business.
