Dennis Leary Hints To Future Of Amazing Spider-Man

Dennis Leary tells Jon Stewart that he chose the Spider-Man reboot over Rescue Me

On Monday's The Daily Show, Dennis Leary admitted to Jon Stewart that the only reason his hit show Rescue Me is not returning for an eighth season is because of his role in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

"I wanted to ride that baby as long as I could", Leary said, speaking about his show. "Listen, I didn't know I was going to get Spider-Man"

"I got Spider-Man, so I quit Rescue Me"

Leary's choice to quit his succesful show and take what was originally assumed to be a supporting role in the film hints to not only Sony's plans for the franchise, but to a possible larger place for Leary in it.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans and (a possibly much more prominent) Dennis Leary, The Amazing Spider-Man is expected to hit theaters July 3, 2012

that's bullshit. it had been decided for like 2 years that the show would end in 2011. they finished filming this season over a year ago.

or the funeral could be for Kurt Conners... maybe?

@Intruder There were two funerals filmed, so I guess one of them is Uncle Ben's, and the other could be either George Stacy or maybe even Conners' kid (if he's killed off).

^ yeah definitely. hahaha

And i have a lot of faith in this movie. Theres just something about it. They really seem to care. But i might just be biased because of the deep hatred within i have for raimi's spider-man. Oh well.

@devinadams300 yeah i was a like 9(?) when the first spiderman came out and i was pumped because i loved the '94 cartoon, but watching the trilogy now makes me so angry because
1 everyone looks like they're 30 EXCEPT kirsten dunst..she still looks 12
2 peter parker isnt nearly as smart as comics or cartoon, plus he wines like he is 12
3 i never remember peter parker quiting spider man because he got fired from his job, or to date mj... not once

Andrew Garfield talks about how he use to pretend he was spider man...well the new pictures defintiley scream "HEY WE READ THE COMICS!!!!"
