SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel Kicks Off "Minutes" After The Events Of AVENGERS 4

Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Amy Pascal has spilled the beans on the sequel revealing how it will link up to the events of the currently untitled fourth instalment of The Avengers franchise...

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is working closely with Sony's Amy Pascal to figure out the wall-crawler's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Spider-Man: Homecoming and in a new interview with Fandom, they've shed some light on where we'll find Peter Parker in his sequel.

The currently untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming follow-up is set to be released in 2020, just two months after the similarly untitled Avengers 4 reaches the big screen. According to Pascal, just like the reboot picks up with the young hero shortly after the events of Captain America: Civil War, so too will the sequel find Peter returning to his normal life "minutes" after the battle with Thanos concludes.

"What I think we should focus on is this Spider-Man who started in Civil War and then has this movie, and then will be in the Avengers movie. And we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story." That confirms Spidey's presence in the Avengers: Infinity War continuation and that his presence there will have a major impact on what's next for him.

Oh, and for those of you who believe the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers have spoiled the entire movie, Pascal adds: "Oh, there’s really big surprises. This is not one of those trailers that
gives away the movie. In fact, we’ve watched the movie with audiences where you hear an audible [gasps]."

It's a great Idea to show Peter/Spider-Mans world view prior to these "amazing" events that he participated in then transitioning right after where he's back to street level.

The main/Avengers movies always follow real time... wouldn't that make Peter a senior in Homecoming 2 (2019)? In fact just about graduating?

Unless Avengers 4 only takes place minutes after Infinity War. That would keep the timeline in 2018 and help.

@Kurne - I think either Feige or Amy did mention that Peter will be in senior year in the sequel.

@9daysleft - we'll that's the thing then. Sort of breaks the initial promise of a high school TRILOGY. I mean I'm fine either way but yeah that's what was originally said to be the case. Guess we might follow Pete to college in the third.

Geez, Spoiler Alert!

That said I'm on board with this. If Spidey goes into space to join in on a massive final cosmic assault against Thanos, it'd be great to see his reaction to going back to fighting purse snatchers.

@Brainiac13 - how could this even come to fruition if Venom comes out before Avengers 4 AND they said that Venom won't be a part of the MCU? How could Peter get a black suit? I'm not familiar with Secret Wars.

@Brainiac13 - That would be too sweet.

LOL Amy Pascal is loving the limelight, have heard more about her in the last few months than her the rest of her 10+ years @ Sony.

If you'd asked me two years ago if I ever wanted to see another Spider-Man movie after the last one I would've told you (and I did to everybody) that they're killing the character, they're trying too hard and if I don't see another one in the next decade, I'd be completely fine with it. My life-long dream to see the best Spidey movie possible came true with Spider-Man 2 and so let's move on.

Fast forward to now and I haven't felt so eager to see Spidey on the big screen again since before the FIRST one and that's saying something. I pray the early reactions are legit!!

it's good to hear that the trailers did not spoil the movie THAT much (although for me it kinda spoiled big action scenes, hope there is something more that they did not show).

as for Sony movies connected to the MCU

"First, there is Spider-Man happily in the place where he’s supposed to be which is in the Marvel Universe," replied Pascal. "I think everything comes from that. This is the signpost, the tentpole, the signature and… the other movies that Sony’s going to make, in their relationship to this [MCU] Spider-Man, take place in this [separate Sony] world. Although you’re not going to see them in the Marvel Universe, it’s in the same reality.”

so, if i understand right those Sony movies will be treated like Netlix series ?

anyway ,the lady is saying "Although you’re not going to see them in the Marvel Universe ... " what about Mac Gargan then ? he suppoused to appear Silver and Black too.

what is this ? 50 % Netlix ? or are Mac Gargan rumours not true and we will see him only in Homecoming

so CONFUSING

If they do the black suit in this movie, I want to see the black suit in snow. It's just amazing imagery, and that was the original plan in Spiderman 3:
