Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is working closely with Sony's Amy Pascal to figure out the wall-crawler's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Spider-Man: Homecoming and in a new interview with Fandom, they've shed some light on where we'll find Peter Parker in his sequel.
The currently untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming follow-up is set to be released in 2020, just two months after the similarly untitled Avengers 4 reaches the big screen. According to Pascal, just like the reboot picks up with the young hero shortly after the events of Captain America: Civil War, so too will the sequel find Peter returning to his normal life "minutes" after the battle with Thanos concludes.
"What I think we should focus on is this Spider-Man who started in Civil War and then has this movie, and then will be in the Avengers movie. And we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story." That confirms Spidey's presence in the Avengers: Infinity War continuation and that his presence there will have a major impact on what's next for him.
Oh, and for those of you who believe the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers have spoiled the entire movie, Pascal adds: "Oh, there’s really big surprises. This is not one of those trailers that gives away the movie. In fact, we’ve watched the movie with audiences where you hear an audible [gasps]."
