New Concept Poster For SPIDER-MAN 4 Film Makes Fans Wonder What's Next in Store For The Wall-Crawler?

A new fan-made poster for Tom Holland's upcoming Spider-Man 4 film was posted by a Twitter user today, and we are curious as to what story this film could potentially tell.

Before the start of the ongoing Hollywood Strike, we knew Marvel and Sony were cooking up something delicious with the next Tom Holland-led Spider-Man 4 film, which is set to release sometime either in 2025/2026.

The film had all the elements and story beats figured out; claimed by Marvel Studio's President Kevin Feige, for their next priority was to seek writers to start scripting the film - of course they only made so much progress before the strike commenced.

Twitter user @agtdesign10 took to the platform a few hours ago, and posted a fan-made concept poster for a Spider-Man film titled The Spectacular Spider-Man:

While this is once again, fake... It influences our imagination to contemplate what really could be the perfect story for Tom Holland's Peter Parker's next big adventure; following the consequential events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man 4 is teased to tell a more-grounded story; seeing Peter protecting the streets of New York as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

There are rumors the Daredevil: Born Again series is set to inaugurate the potential story for Spider-Man 4, as Vincent D'onofrio's Kingpin will be running for mayor in New York, and work to pass an anti-vigilante law.

This could serve as the beginning of the much anticipated Kingpin and Spider-Man rivalry, to which Vincent D'onofrio has expressed his interest in seeing adapted - "I have a strong feeling that, and I've said this since I've started the Netflix show, that... eventually, I'm going to kick Spider-Man's ass."

Additionally, Sony's Kraven The Hunter film, which is set to release in August of next year, has teased the film's ending will work as the beginning of Kraven going on the hunt for Spider-Man.

Lastly, the post-credits-scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home showed a small piece of the Venom symbiote remaining in Tom-Holland's Peter Parker's universe, so perhaps the film could finally introduce the MCU Symbiote Spider-Man.

As the ongoing Hollywood Strike continues, Marvel, nor Sony has yet to confirm anything.

What would you want to see in Spider-Man 4

I say for the 4th one they should do Scorpion created by Jameson with Fisk also involved as a financier setting him up for the next film.

That’s a funny way of saying “We Have Nothing To Report On So Here’s Some Fan Art” Poster.

I think (and this is just a guess/hopeful thinking) that the next trilogy will be a street-level based trilogy which will have Fisk as the ultimate big bad. I don't think that he'll be the big bad in "SP4" but be behind the scenes. I look at it as a lineage kinda like this:

- "Hawkeye" established that the Kingpin is in the MCU and is a bad guy who can rip off car doors
- "She-Hulk" established that DD is in the MCU and he is a good guy (and apparently lucky with the ladies as well)
- "Echo" will serve to set up the connection between DD and KP in preparation for "DD:BA", as well as do whatever it is that Marvel wants to do with the Echo character
- "DD:BA" will server as the proper introduction of street-level characters in the MCU, with DD, Punisher, and possibly Spidey, Jessica, Echo, etc. (remember that the first season alone has 18 episodes). It will likely also set the stage for "SM4" by establishing the street-level world and all the players in it
- "SM4" - "SM6" will focus on the street-level world the was built up in the above, with the Kingpin being the big bad pulling the strings. So we'll likely see a DD team up at some point, the Scorpion/JJJ payoff, Black Cat, etc. (pretty much everything that we've been wanting to see since day 1). I doubt that KP will be the big bad in "SP4" and it will more likely be someone like Silvermane or Tombstone or some other gangster characters, but it will likely be revealed in a post credits scene that they are working for KP. I also expect that Black Cat will be in "SP4" as Spidey's new love interest, but he may also secretly be stalking MJ. I'm guessing that they would probably save Scorpion/JJJ/ Smythe for "SM5", with "SM6" be the big showdown with KP.
- Along the way Spidey will head off for the big events, such as "A:KD" and "A:SW", but otherwise will likely stick to his street-level stuff, like in the comics.

The only thing that I can't quite put into place is how they will ultimately incorporate the symbiote. Sure, it's already technically in the MCU, but that could be easily forgotten and perhaps he gets how own symbiote as a result of "A:SW" which he then uses as his suit in "SM5" (as it would presumably come out after "A:SW", and then he either has to deal with the symbiote as part of "SM5" or "SM6" which would have to deal with the introduction of the MUC's Venom while also taking down the KP. Unless Peter uses the symbiote to take down the KP (and possibly Scorpion/Smythe/etc.) in "SM5" and then Venom in "SM6". Dunno.

But either way these are the major pieces that I think we're going to see in the next trilogy of SM movies, however they line them up. Oh, and I didn't even mention Mr. Negative, which we already got a tease for in "NWH". Jeesh! Good luck Pete!

@StSteven - all sounds good. But 2 things

I highly doubt they're gonna sign Kingpin on for 3 movies. I love MCU but they love to dispose of their villains and wrap their stories up with a bow. Frustrating some times. I see Kingpin in a spiderman movie but only 1. Sony also has say right? They're gonna want to push their rogue gallery and won't want Kingpin taking all the limelight

Also I believe the symbiote is setup for secret wars. I see spiderman in the black suit most of the time during that movie. And I see Flash Thompson getting the symbiote after spiderman dispels it, so that we get some form of venom in the mcu. Probably for spiderman 5

So spidey 4 would be Kingpin
Kang/Secret wars would be black suit spidey
Spiderman 5 would bring back spidermans highschool friends including Flash, and Flash gets the suit permanently. Maybe they introduce Knull as the villain and spidermans story goes cosmic again (I know mcu can't resist)
Spiderman6 is a big mystery to me. Uncharted territory

@Vigor - Well I get all your points, but I would respectfully say this: Marvel is obviously trying to build out it's various "corners" (i.e. street-level, supernatural, Earth-level, galactic-level, etc.). It was messy at first in Phase 4 with the Chapek "More! Faster!" dictum, but now they're settling it down and hopefully focusing on quality over quantity. But that doesn't change the fact that Kevin obviously wants to have those different "corners" within the MCU, as well he should. Myself and others have made the analogy to the MCU ultimately being like a cinematic version of a comic store, where not everything is for everyone, but there's something for everyone, depending on your taste.

I say all that to say that for each one go these different "corners" they need to have a big bad to keep the story for those characters moving forward toward something. So that the shows don't end up being episodic in nature, as that's not compelling (at least to me anyway). So with that in mind, the KP makes total sense as being the big bad of the street-level characters, just as Mephisto would be to the supernatural corner, Doom to the Earth-level corner, and Kang (for now) to the galactic/multiversal level. Obviously things will change over time.

So with all that in mind, why wouldn't they have KP in the next 3 Spidey movies as the mastermind, pulling the strings? Like I said, in "SP4" he could be revealed in a post credits scene, then in "SP5" he plays a larger role building up to "SP6" where he's the big bad. Makes sense to me. And regarding Spidey's rogue's gallery, the next two movies at least is where they can shine (like I said maybe with Scorpion in there somewhere, etc.). I don't know how much Sony has say over all that though.

As far as black suit Spidey goes, though, like I said above, that's where I'm very interested to see how they work that all in. I'm pretty confident that after this next SM trilogy Marvel will relegate Spidey to a mentoring role to Miles for the next couple of trilogies, so I'm pretty sure that Marvel wants to incorporate the symbiote saga in there somewhere with the current Spidey before the end of his run. I don't see Knull in the next SP trilogy as that would be too much to cram into a single movie or even the trilogy, IF done correctly. That doesn't preclude Sony from doing it with a Venom movie (which sounds like something they would do), but I just don't see Marvel doing it and do it justice. Let's also remember that Knull and his whole story and the story of the symbiotes in general is still a relatively new story (except for Venom obviously), so I think that Marvel would want to sit on that storyline and let it mature for another decade before putting it to film.

Nice click bait headline there guys. 'Concept' makes it sound like it was studio produced but it's not until you get into the article where it says it's basically just fan art. Other contributors to this site seem to be taking Josh Wilding's lead and that's not a good thing. Clicks over integrity seems to be this site's new mantra.

Dick move, Josh.

Anyway, was thinking about that the other day.

Symbiote suit for a whole film with him being awesome and a bit more violent. Have him fight street crime with these street-level heroes and villains, which would fit this mood.

Let the symbiote become a problem in a future film, possibly in a team-up with F4.
