Players; the countdown begins. As the new month commenced only yesterday - so nears the official release date of the highly-anticipated Insomniac Games Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on the PlayStation 5.

Releasing in only 18-days from now, Insomniac Games released a new promo-trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2; showing both Peter Parker and Miles Morales work hand-and-hand in an attempt to defeat the symbiotic parasite that is Venom.

The trailer opens with both Spidey's gliding about through the streets of New York City experiencing a slimey, extraterrestrial threat like no other - to which Venom intercepts Peter Parker winding up an attack on the behemoth, and seamlessly evades Miles'.

We then move on to both heroes wallowing away in their own self-doubt; unknowing if they can truly protect those they love, and the torn-apart city they once called a "home."

After much delibiration and newfound belief, the two swarm Venom with an array of speedy attacks, conducive gadgets, and impressive powersets which will hopefully be enough to dismiss the symbiotes reign of terror and destruction.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, it features a narrative inspired by the long-running comic book mythology while also deriving from various adaptations in other media. It is the third entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, acting as a sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man (2018) and a follow-up to Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020), with Peter Parker and Miles Morales struggling to navigate the next steps in their personal lives while combatting an assortment of villains.

Among them including a private militia led by mercenary Kraven the Hunter, the monstrous Lizard, and the extraterrestrial Venom symbiote, which bonds itself to Parker and negatively influences him, threatening to destroy his personal relationships.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023.

@AvalonX - First game was great, i expect it to at least be on par with the original.

But yeah i always felt they should have given Mile's Spider-Man his own name. I know what Marvel we trying to do, but having 2 of them with the same name just doesn't sit right if they're in the same universe. If he was still in the the Ultimate-verse where Peter's dead, then yeah that's alot more understandable.

@AvalonX - As far as reasons not to want to play this game go, this is beyond dumb, but it's your loss anyway. Miles' bioelectric powers are just as fun as Peter's gadgets, if not more.

@Urubrodi - it is yet to be revealed how much character swapping is required to play the game. Once again, there is only one Spider-man AND I hate POV switches in games.

The ones is the first game take you right out of it whether it was Miles or MJ.

Maybe you should ask yourself why you came to that conclusion so quickly. Sounds like a you thing. I'll admit, I don't like treating superheroes like an office. I never like US Agent. I just wanted proper cap. I didn't even like Bucky cap or Azrael Batman. Its just not my thing. So now you have proper context. I dont like swaps ...period.

I'm more of a Halo/Xbox guy but I had a good time with the 1st one on PS4, so i bought a PS5 just to play this 1. Will likely sell once i'm done though! I just hope i manage to avoid spoilers.

@OrgasmicPotatoe - I heard about that one too, But na, i got the God of War Bundle so playing through Ragnorok until the 20th. I bought a PS4 a few years ago where i played the uncharted games, Spider-Man and God of War...they were all great games, but they have no replay value to me, so i sold them on. Only games i play non stop are prob halo's multiplayer and more recently the Modern Warfare 2 reboot's multiplayer. Don't think i'll bother with MW3 though.

@UniqNo - Yeah, Uncharted and God of War are also excellent ! I'm planning on doing GoW2018 and Ragnarok back to back next time I get into it. I guess I'm somewhat the opposite of you in that I have no interest in multiplayer shooters but will replay single player story games over and over again, I've been through the first Spider-Man more times than I can remember

@OrgasmicPotatoe - I hear you, but me i suppose i can't really see the campaigns the same as a movie, it takes long to get into the story again lol. Where as with multiplayer it's a "jump right in and go for the objective" type of thing, but damn those Uncharted games were cinematic! 4th one was a masterpiece. Naughty Dog always delivers. I've never played The Last of Us, but i've been considering maybe picking up the 1st one's remake but i can't stand horror/zombie type games! i have to play with the volume on mute! haha

@UniqNo - Oh man don't get me started on Last of Us ! I picked up the game not even knowing it was zombie/horror, and I'm also not a fan of those. I had just heard a huge amount of positive reviews and decided I'd try it out. Stellar game, if you loved Uncharted, you should enjoy those. Everytime I booted up the game felt like going on an unwanted assignment just so I could know how it ended. The clickers and bloaters had my heart jumping straight out of my chest. But the story was worth it.

Second one, not so much, but the gameplay was a lot of fun, especially proning on the ground.

@UniqNo - So I killed the Spider-man game on PS4 but replaying it again on PS5 as the remastered version and I gotta say the controller's on PS4 was way better control on the swinging I've encountered more issues on the PS5 swigging around the city.

Not to mention encountered bugs on the PS5 version than I did on the PS4 version too.


So just asking if you managed to see any of those problems?

@Matador - So i also played it on PS4, and don't remember many bugs. I've not played it since 2019 or even tried the Miles Morales game so i won't be much help sorry.. But will see how the new one goes on the PS5. in a couple weeks. Any idea on when the reviews come out?

@UniqNo - No not yet it doesn't come out till the 20th so the review embargo's have not lifted but some say it might be 30 hours long to get all achievements.

So I don't know what I did wrong I got all my achievements on the first game but my PS tells me I rocketed in 100+ hours in the game.
