SPIDER-MAN Star Yuri Lowenthal Reacts To Tom Holland And NO WAY HOME Borrowing His Spidey's Moves (Exclusive)

Tom Holland praised the Spider-Man video game while promoting No Way Home and even borrowed some of that web-slinger's moves. Now, the voice of Insomniac's Peter Parker, Yuri Lowenthal, has responded...

Doing the rounds to promote Spider-Man: No Way Home, star Tom Holland shared plenty of praise for Sony's 2018 video game. The actor even confirmed that his wall-crawler had borrowed some moves from the hit title, something we saw for ourselves when his Peter Parker faced the Green Goblin.

An amazing Easter Egg for fans, it was a delight to watch Spider-Man receive some big screen love, especially when star Yuri Lowenthal is both a self-confessed Spidey fan and the perfect actor to bring the hero to life on consoles.

Last week, we caught up with Yuri to discuss his role as Mon El in Legion of Super-Heroes. You'll have to check back on Thursday for the full interview, and while we had the prolific actor on the phone, we asked for his reaction to the way Spider-Man: No Way Home paid homage to the game.

"Being such a huge comic book and Spider-Man fan from way back, it seems like a dream," Lowenthal tells us. "Our Spider-Man is so well-regarded across the Spider-Verse if you will, right into the cinematic universe. A lot of the things they went ahead and made canon in the comic books. Spider-Cop, not being the least!"

"I loved hearing that it inspired, not only fans of the character, but people who are also creating the character and this burgeoning Spider-Man mythology which has obviously been boiling for many years."

"It’s nice to have an ownership over a Spider-Man. My office is filled with the Advanced Suit Spider-Man toys," he concluded. "I can’t believe I got to leave a mark on that and to continue being part of it is still…I still can’t believe it’s true."

How heartwarming is that?

Spider-Man has certainly been every bit as respectful to the movies, not only bringing all of Holland's costumes into the title, but those worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as well. We're hoping they'll be part of the upcoming sequel as well, though we're sure Insomniac Games have some very exciting new ideas for unlockable suits.

As for the MCU's webbed wonder, Spider-Man 4 is still thought to be on the way, with The Kingpin rumoured as the movie's big bad. Perhaps that instalment will take some inspiration from Spider-Man's opening battle with Wilson Fisk?

Legion of Super-Heroes is set to be released on February 7.
