There is no surprise that writers have been hired to pen a third
Amazing Spider-Man, as Sony already marked June 10, 2016 as the released date for the third film. Hell, they even set a release date for the fourth film in the franchise, May 4, 2018. Today,
The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, that Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, the trio that helped to write
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 screenplay (story by James Vanderbilt), have been asked back for
The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Also coming back, will be producers, Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach. As for director Marc Webb, Sony hopes that he will return.
The duo of, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, will have their hands full as they are already committed to writing
Star Trek 3,
Locke & Key and the reboot of
The Mummy.
TASM2 - Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.
