The Lizard To Be The Villain In Spider-Man Reboot?

The next villain we could see in the Spider-Man big screen rouges gallery could be Dr. Curt Connors himself, aka The Lizard. Plus, an update on the Jamie Bell as Parker rumor.

This rumor comes from the same sources that reported that Jamie Bell was close to nabbing the role of Peter Parker. This time its all about the bad guy. Bleeding Cool claim that despite The Lizard being the fan favorite villain in the ongoing Sam Raimi saga which is of course now scrapped, the scaly one will appear in Marc Webb's rebooting of the story.

After yesterdays news that Michael Fassbender may have been approached to play the villain in the new Spidey movie, its possible(if either or both of these stories even hold water of course) that he may be playing Curt Connors, who we hjave previously seen in Rami's films played by Dylan Baker.

The site also has some further info on the Bell rumor...

I’m told that Jamie Bell was scheduled to fly into California this week. The plan is that he will be undergoing a few weeks of camera tests while simultaneously working with a personal trainer to ensure he is able to perform some of the more spider-like stunts that will be required of him. However this is being considered a formality.

As for Josh Hutcherson, previously much favoured, I’m told that he may be caught in an option on a previous movie deal and, as a result, may not be available for any web swinging.

Frank Dillane is still being considered for the role, but he appears to be Sony’s back up plan. Unless something goes very wrong, I understand that Bell will be playing the Spider-Man role. To the extent that Jamie has been heard referred to as Spider Man in casual conversation around Sony.

And they wonder how these things leak…

Since Bell's rumored securing of the role and this new report of The Lizard being the villain comes from the same source, its likely that they are either both true or both complete tripe! Anyway, let your fingers do the talking and confirm or debunk below.
