Man Of Steel Daily Planet Location Revealed; Same Building As "Wayne Enterprises"!

Thanks to some Chicago fans, we now have confirmation of where the iconic Metropolis location will be in the city, and it's the same building Christopher Nolan used as "Wayne Enterprises" in Batman Begins...

Chicago locals have seemingly figured out the location of "The Daily Planet" in Zack Snyder's upcoming Man of Steel, and it's the same building which was used in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins as "Wayne Enterprises." The crew are reportedly setting up at Monroe and Lower Wacker in preparation to film at the Chicago Board of Trade Building, which will double as the iconic Metropolis location. Looking at the top of this building, it's certainly not too difficult to imagine the globe on top!

Filming has now wrapped in Plano, IL, and while it was fairly secretive for the most part, we did get a fair few revealing set photos. Whether the same will apply for Chicago, we'll just have to wait and see, but if you live in the area and have any information or photos you'd like to share, be sure to get in touch!

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

The inside of The Daily Planet in Returns looked shit. I want the inside to look like the one in Superman:TAS...

well thats great every time they have a shot of the Daily Planet it will take me out of the movie knowing that this is the same building that was used for Wayne Enterprises.

I like it, but change the outside appearence so it won't look the same as 'Batman Begins's becuase it wouldn't be believable.

A coincidence to be sure, but I'm sure that someone will bring up that Bruce Wayne owned the Daily Planet at one time....Nah,they wouldn't be that sly....Too much of a tenuous connection to suggest a crossover....

Well, a different, more nondescript building was used for Wayne Enterprises in TDK. Maybe Bruce Wayne sublet the old one to The Daily Planet? Just kidding. I really hope they don't try to connect MOS to TDK.

It looks very daily planet like tbh but it's very similar to the outside of the smallville daily planet.

Well, Nolan is the producer. And @Nephillim this makes it especially clear to those you don't [frick]ing get it, they're not crossing over.

The top definitely fits for PLANET globe, plus well it looks good and I don't think it was fully shot that much in BEGINS, so it should be cool!

I hope they go for the bustling, overly busy/slightly messy Planet like they had in the first (classic) Superman movie - complete with racy, unflinching headlines etc

I like the animated stuff, but it was too clean, as was its Metropolis. Metropolis should be crime-ridden, and that's why it needs a protector.

Lois should be cynical/hard as nails because the city has made her that way. Plus I think she should have a camera to make her a little more believable and "hands on".

Could care less that they are using the same building.
As long as it looks like Daily Planet in the movie im happy. :)

@bhattib How are they rushing this film when it doesn't come out until Summer 2013?... I don't know about but that's a long time away. Sorry to say this but you're obviously not clued up about the production of this film.

I'm guessing something is up. It could just be a convenience because Nolan is producing the film he wants to check in. It could be throwing ideas around fro something else wink wink.I don't personally don't discount any rumors about a cross over tie in. I trust Nolan to do the right thing in these films.

Well, Snyder/Nolan did say Man of Steel was in its own Universe so it's not like they're doing a crossover. From what I remember Metropolis and Gotham have been considered sister cities before so could be possible that they share a certain resemblance to each other. However, I hope it's not too strong a resemblance.
