Possible Detail For A Fight Sequence In MAN OF STEEL

Man Of Steel is out to make the non-action oriented Superman Returns a distant memory and according to this very small but very cool possible detail, it very well could do just that.

Bleeding Cool has a bit of information that they obtained at this years San Diego Comic Con regarding Man Of Steel. The information is not confirmed by them, but it is really cool none the less. The info they have been given is that during a fight sequence in the film Superman uses a building as a weapon. Here is exactly what Rich Johnston was told, "I have been told details of one specific scene in particular, in which Superman breaks apart a building and uses the building itself as a weapon in some kind of ‘super martial art’ fashion. “Girders as throwing stars” was the specific example I was given." This rumor is unconfirmed at the moment so make sure you take this bit of information with a grain of salt. However, Snyder has said that he wants to make Superman relevant again, and based on this possible description it sounds like he just might.

Man Of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne with Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, and will be released on June 14, 2013.

How do you use a girder like a throwing star...? Just by throwing it?

Sounds epic but I don't understand.

Well its snyder, dude knows how to do epic action but hopefully that doesn't over shadow the story. And Superman returns was a bad movie because the characters were unengaging not because of the lack of action. And hopefully it has a healthy dose of humour too.

For those who don't know, A girder is a support beam used in construction.

Im guessing Supes will x-ray a building to see if it's empty and then rip out the steel girders and throw them into a large object (Ship, Doomsday? :D).

Awesome.

gunfire, punches & kicks . . . save it for the Expendables 2 (sorry sly).

cars as punching bags . . . save it for TIH.

Using buildings, planetoids, slingshot gravity punches, sonic boom takedowns, & hitting one upside the head with an aircraft carrier . . . that's what I want to see!

I hope the story is true!! that would be AWEEEESOME!! The only good action in Superman Returns was the first scene where Sups stops the plane from crashing, rest of the movie was ...zzzzzzzzzzzzz...sleeper!!....That S throw looks so dumb now, ha! but back then it looked pretty cool!! Go figure?!?

@figuresmaniac: If he uses his x-ray vision to check the building first, then it's fine.

Sounds cool. But Snyder will most likely ruin it by over using slow motion as he does with all his movies.

Also people can say what they will about Snyder's inabilty to craft a story.

The guy knows how to create great and memorable action sequences.

there is going to have to be slow motion in the movie otherwise, the audience will be unaware of whats going on.
Zod and superman have super speed, right?
If i had super speed capabilities i would be moving at that speed constantly .
thats the problem with superman and kryptonians in general..they are just too pwerful for humans .
but in a kryptonian versus a kryptonian battle, they should be evenly matched.unless one is called bubba the kryptonian and the other is maximus the mostly powerful the kryptonian.
oh my head hurts.
Zack Snyders head must also be hurting.

I'm not tired of the use of ramping in movies just yet and Snyder does it the best. I'd take ramping over the overuse of shaky cam in a film any day. And since superman can move so fast, and I assume Zod and Faiora can as well, I think slo mo and ramping will be used in a way that will allow us to savor the awesomesauce :)

i cant wait to see a better quality version!am also excited to find out what hints are dropped in relation to other super heroes!
