Daily Planet in "Smallville" is looking pretty much like the Daily Planet we all know and love

Perry White has been absent in Smallville since season 3. So when the news recently that Annette O'Toole's Martha Kent will be returning, there's an off chance the Ms O'Toole will bring back in the fold her real life husband Michael McKean to reprise his role as Perry White.

Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that the return of Perry White is happening. \ He and Mrs. Kent will be seen next to the last episode of the season (episode #9.21).

"Smallville"'s executive producer Brian Peterson has this to say about Perry White.
"We finally get to see the legendary introduction between Perry White and the intrepid Lois Lane,"


I'm not sure if Perry will be the new Editor of Daily Planet when we see him again or still be a reporter.

So next up will be that younger Jimmy Olsen then we have ourselves the real Daily Planet.

This info along with Martha Kent coming back is great news for SMALLVILLE! I think this is all a big setup for season 10. Can't wait only a few more days till SMALLVILLE comes back. The suspense is killing me!!!

@grif But its getting sooo much better. It's not like it used to be, all that teen drama crap is gone, we're actually getting some exciting stories, yea, I know he's not superman, yet, but just watching him slowly transform is great. Hey, till we get another big screen supes movie(which isn't likely for a while) I'll take this instead.

Great find access! :) I completely agree with you that its time for the show to evolve into something else - I dont see why having him in some sort of costume or even just flying is so difficult - Lois and Clark did it years ago!!!

His S3 episode was one of my favourites so I look forward to his return!

It's cool that he's married to Annette O'Toole.

Hope he gets to be proper editor of The Daily Planet. Right now they have some random people telling Lois what stories to chase.

i think theres gotta be some legal reason why thier holding back on the full blown outfit and name. otherwise they would have done it by now. the creators said they never wanted to do that, but they left the show so the new people should care less as long as the ratings are good, which they would be if they went full on supes.

I am a big fan of the show and that is awesome that Martha Kent and Perry White are coming back. Smallville is getting good. This is a free country you know, it's not like someone is tying you to the TV and saying,"This is your torture, watch Smallville!" If Smallville is killing you, Don't Watch it! LOL =)

I THINK IT WOULD BE THE BEST THING IF THEY DID CHANGE SMALLVILLES NAME TO "METROPOLIS", I MEAN LOOK AT THE COOL THINGS WE WOULD AS FANS GET TO SEE ON A REGULAR BASIS; EVERYONE HAS BECOME WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS THEM TO BE, INTRODUCTION OF NEW VILLAINS FROM THE DC UNIVERSE, THE LEAUGE OF COURSE WITH VISITING ALTER TEAMS, SPACE TRAVEL? A FULL FLEDGED COSTUMED SUPERMAN, THEYRE TAKING SO LONG TO MAKE THE BIG SCREEN MOVIE AND FANS WANT A SUPERMAN FIX, MOST PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO GET BACK INTO SMALLVILLE, ONE REASON WHY? PEOPLE CAN SEE SUPERMAN EMERGING, A NEW SUPERMAN IS NEEDED TOO, THE MOVIE ONE WAS VERY NOSTALGIC, BORING RECYCLED WITH CHANGES THAT MOST FANS DIDN'T LIKE. If they change the name it might get them bigger audiance , the viewing figures are the lowest it has ever been , ironic as it's the best the show has ever been just want him to be superman , I mean come on smallville writers he's 33 and looks it on bluray , I just hope they don't leave it till the last episode ever (prob season 15 by the way it's going) and the last 5 min to see him suited up . Fingers crossed for metropolis next season with superman not matrix Clark

SMALLVILLE, IF YOUR OUT THERE, PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU WHAT THEYD LOVE TO SEE..WHY IS IT THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE COME BACK? WE LOVE SEEING SUPERMAN ON TV..SUPERMAN, ONCE YOU PUT THE S ON WELLINGS CHEST, EVERYONE TURNED AROUND AND SAID WOAH HE MAY ACTUALLY START BEING SUPERMAN, HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE THERE WAS A SUPERMAN ON TV?
