SUPERMAN: LEGACY Fans Are Convinced We Got A First Glimpse Of New Super-Suit In James Gunn's BTS Photos

Superman: Legacy director James Gunn took to social media to share photos of an adorable pooch in a very Krypto-like cape, and fans are convinced they caught a glimpse of the Super-suit in the background.

Superman: Legacy director James Gunn shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the art department to Instagram earlier today, and, as you might expect, fans have been studying the images very carefully in the hopes of picking up some clues about the upcoming DCU reboot.

The snaps give us a look at an adorable pooch named Nora doing her best Krypto impersonation while sporting a cape, and, yes, a few (potentially) intriguing items are visible in the background.

There's a Superman vinyl in the Fleischer-era costume, some posters on the back wall, one of which features Krypto (Gunn has previously indicated that the Superdog will appear), and what appears to be an obscured glimpse of a Super-suit with a yellow "S" emblem in a box under the table.

This could simply be one of the outfits the designers were using for research purposes, but some fans are convinced it might be our first look at the costume David Corenswet's Man of Steel will don in the movie.

Gunn is almost certainly well aware of what can - and can't - be seen in these shots, so we can't imagine he'd allow anything too revealing to be photographed. But hey, you never know.

Have a look at the photos below, and let us know what you think.

In related news, Lois Lane actress Rachel Brosnahan was present at the national day of solidarity rally to show her support for the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

Superman: Legacy will also star Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.

Casting is currently underway for Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White.

Barring any delays, Production is scheduled to commence next January.

Oh man , given Gunn’s love of animals….I didn’t even think of the possibility of Krypto being in this.

I could see that happening here or in something like Superman & Lois.

@TheVisionary25 - It was was revealed during the GotG VOL.3 press tour in an interview involving Chris Pratt and him. The former just casually said it and then Gunn confirmed it. People must've probably forgot about it.

@NinnesMBC - It's certainly possible Krypto will pop up in Legacy, but a director joking with his buddy that he's going to make him play a dog in a movie isn't actually confirmation of anything.

@ClintThaHamster - I must have missed that part from the interview about implying Pratt would play/voice Krypto as part of the "confirmation", I see then.

I knew he was gonna include Krypto since it was spoiled in the Guardians VOL.3 press tour. Would be surprising if the idea actually ends up being scrapped in post production though.

TBH fans are reaching a little there, but I guess it's okay, it's all about the hype and sneak peaks.

I saw the Brosnahan video too, it'd be nice if Gunn could also take a moment out of any day and also show up in support in the picket line.

And while we're at it covering the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, last week there was a Superman & Lois reunion with former Jon Kent actor, Jordan Elsass.

@NinnesMBC - Krypto will probably be in Woman of Tomorrow since he features heavily in that book. Also Gunn hypothetically mentioned a Krypto game taking place between movies. Maybe he was thinking between Superman Legacy and Woman of Tomorrow.

Krypto...Gunn took the GOG script and just changed all the names. Krypto = Rocket...the Justice Society = The Ravagers etc...etc.

All this aside but goodness gracious Rachel Brosnahan is simply perfection for Lois (and in general).

I really hate the idea of having Krypto in any Superman movie, let alone in the first movie of a reboot. The character is a gimmick. Don't know why people are happy he's in it.

@EgoEgor - Agreed. Unless the pooch is only briefly shown or mentioned as a pet maybe at the Kent farm etc, and doesn't have any involvement.

Krypto being in the film makes sense. Gunn has been doing that for years. Use a animal to make the audience and kids attached and the merch sales are gonna be big if the film is good.

It's probably just the box of the same cape/capes that the dog is wearing.. Even Krypto needs spares.

Oh man, the art department for a Superman movie has Red Blu Gold stuff lying around! Wow what a scoop! Next you’ll be telling me there’s reference material of other Superman designs scattered around that space. Shocked I’d be, shocked.
