FAN ART: TMNT Concept Designs

We know Michael Bay and co are going to be taking a few liberties with the characters from "Ninja Turtles" in their reboot, and they could do much worse than take some inspiration from the following designs..

Since "Turtlegate" it's been all about those four young crime fighting amphibians here on CBM (you may have noticed!), and here are some great fan made concept designs from Gloooscap. As you can see he does change up the classic look of Raph, Don, Mikey and Leo quite a bit but I think it works well. We also have takes on Splinter, Casey Jones, April O'Neil, Shredder with two members of The Foot Clan, Leatherhead (although I think he might have mixed Baxter Stockman in there), Karai, and Usagi Yojimbo..









Granted they're not exactly "dark and gritty", but I don't necessarily feel they should be. These designs are pretty spot on I think. What do you guys think?

What really needs to be done is just keep the turtles in their original bandanas...all red. That's what it was in the book and it should stay that way.

Aside from April, Casey, and some of the turtles designs, most of these are really good.

its getting really annoying to see people dont think it should be "gritty" or "dark"...Im assuming no one has ever read the original comics of the turtles. They were dark, they were gritty, funny, and most of all they were [frick]ing awesome. Once again michael bay destroys another great thing like all of his movies hes ever made

interesting and creative. i definitely wouldn't go with that radical a departure for the film design, but this is some cool work.

Like the design for Miyamoto Usagi, but he had nothing to do with the turtles. Only the animated series and few universe crossovers ever made the connection; he is not a part of canon.

@Gunsmith that Nolanized turtle looks beasty, not sure if it would work on film though

These are awesome. Love the mix of different Japanese armor and clothing styles. Usagi Yojimbo looks the badass as well.

The Leo design is kinda cool, but the overall artwork is not impressive at all. Looks like year one high school art class. Snooze.
