The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are partnering with Ubisoft to celebrate their 25th Anniversary with a brand new game – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up. This is the first Ninja Turtles video game that is not directly tied to a movie, television show or comic book. The 4-player action brawler features a variety of battle modes including online multiplayer gameplay, minigames, and an original story mode for single player co-created with Peter Laird.

The game is developed for the Wii system from Nintendo by Game Arts – part of the team who worked on Super Smash Bros.™ Brawl. While similar to their past project, Smash-Up offers some new surprises and features for a new shell-raising experience. Throughout the game, fans will be treated to unlockable surprises celebrating 25 years of Turtle history.

I love TMNT but I hate wii as a gaming system I almost thought about buying when they anounced the Nintendos Punch Out game but I said [frick] buy a system for a game is just not worth and especially a wii. The one gaming system catered for children.

This sounds like a blast! I'm in, as long as there's an optional Usagi Yojimbo character to play! ;-)

LEEE777@ The only reason I want to get a Wii is cuz I want to play all of the old games like Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, hell even Paper Boy!

So is it like super smash bros, or is it going to be cool? I was hoping for more of a TMNT 2: arcade feel, with levels and crap, or maybe like an Ultimate Alliance. If it's like SSB, I'll pass, even though the TMNT are super bad ass.

adamant877--That would be so cool. I love Usagi.

I hope they add "Street Sharks" for the turtles to pummel. ANd any other TMNT rip off. Swat Kats, Bucky O'hare, Mutanimals, Planet of the Apes(for fun), there's got to be some more.

I heard they're bringing the greatest beat-em up of all time to all systems!!!!?..TMNT: Turtles in Time..

ahh......the good ol' days.

@ Hellmont - Well it may be catered for children and not live up to your standards, it's still a better selling console against the PS3 and XBox 180...

I bought a Gamecube just for Resident Evil 4 and could of waited until November 05!...and 2 years later, I sold it to my friend for a lousy 30 bucks!!?!!...damn.

Stupidest [frick]ing move I made in my life..

@Betty--- BUCKY O' HARE! NO WAY! I forgot all about that cartoon!

Yeah, it's a rip from TMNT, but I rather enjoyed it! Hopefully DREAMWORKS or PIXAR can get the rights and do a CGI Film! Ala MONSTERS vs ALIENS! It has huge franchise potential, I think. ;)

I got a kick from the opening theme for the cartoon!! lol It tried so hard to sound like "Faith No More's EPIC" but it was still a fun theme song! :D

Rorschach01: "We already know Raphael would kill the hell out of all the rest of the characters anyway!" - Your damn right.

Turtle games are always good for a laugh and Wii should start pumping out top games or something because if Natal does what it promises Wii is seriously boned.

@Yohon Kalic - I saw your video post the other day, but nothing with any meat about the game, screenshots or a custom made wallpaper... Did I miss it somewhere?

I even double-checked your fansite just now and didn't see anything other than the video post with all the trailers from GameTrailers.com...

@spock - I keep an eye on them, I just don't like embedding everything in their player so I usually have to wait an extra day for the publishers to release the videos to everyeone else :o(

I got a wii, but Imma pass on this one.

Unless there is gonna be a lil Usagi Yojimbo action. Then, maybe a rental. Rabbit Swordsman all the way.

@WeaponX
I don't think the Natal is going any where, its promise is big but but so was the PlayStation Eye and the PlayStation 2 EyeToy... After paying all the money for a system who wants to pay for peripheral that costs almost as much as the system? unless it's part of the console it will fail just like just about any other peripheral.

@Nathan Best

Im sorry I didn't know we had to wait for your site to get something before it became news, and yeah your right that must be the key ingredient I was missing from my article, a super duper cool wallpaper...

No matter how much MEAT you put in your article, a trailer to me is still better then all your words and your one screen shot.

SpiderMan209--Dude you just opened my head and ate my chilled monkey brains. I never put together that the theme song sounded a lot like Epic. I'm a HUGE Mike Patton fan (faithNM for the lay person). I loved the opening but almost never got to watch a full episode. It came on really early in the morning right when I was supposed to be waiting on the bus.

I got to watch it when I was sick. I loved being sick. Those were the days. I may have called them TMNT knock-offs but I still liked all of them, even street sharks. "Lets get dorsal!"

@Yohon Kalic - So you're saying that your post with a ton of different trailers and absolutely no content is the same as a post with screenshots, wallpaper and actual game info?

The fact that you stated "Not only did I post this, but I posted the video of it and other comic book related games, yet this is front page news...." is completely incorrect because you didn't post THIS, you posted a TMNT trailer (along with several other game trailers)...

Maybe I'm just confused... Maybe somebody smarter than myself can point out how they're the same, where I've gone wrong here and why I shouldn't have posted this?

To me they're two different things... Your's touches on it with a trailer, while mine has some content and different things for people to check out. I happen to like trailers very much myself, but I also like screenshots, game info, etc...

To each their own.

I like the Wii, I bought it to play three games:Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime Corruption. It was worth it for those three alone. I think Twilight is probably one of my favorite games. And since I finally broke down and bought a 360 I will finally see what all the hub bub over Fallout 3 is. So far looks good..looks good
