First let me just start by saying in the beginning The Flash started out strong in the pilot becoming one of the most successful show on CW with 4-5 million viewers watching it. Then over time it became stronger and improved its weaknesses and I turned to love this show so much. The Flash series takes stories from the Flash mythos like Flash Rebirth where Barry’s mom gets killed by the Reverse Flash who went back in time from the 25th century, Flashpoint Paradox which is about Flash going back in time to save his mother which causes a different timeline.
One of the greatest strengths is that of the cast themselves, Grant Gustin who plays the Flash who even though hes in the same position as Stephen Amell was in Season 1 of Arrow,I think he pulled off an excellent Barry Allen, who has alot of humor, his main goal is to find his mothers killer and that creates alot of dynamics between his adopted father Joe West and his crush Iris West. Now I got to mention the Flash vs Arrow two part crossover because that was like the Batman v Superman on tv.Another thing I love is the way they throw the secret identity thing out of the window in this series and I hope they dont bring the secret identity aspect as a main focus as Smallville did that already.I also love that they brought back John Wesley Shipp as Barry's father as it references his previous appearance in the 90's
The weaknesses I have with the show is only just a nitpick but like with Arrow,Laurel was the weakest of that show in my opinion but I think Iris has not gone to that area but she hasnt really contributed to the narrative aside from a few episodes.
Overall I think The Flash has gone on my favourite show of 2014 with Arrow second,Constantine third and Gotham last(I've been trying to watch Agents of Shield but I cant do it when watching season 1 but I'll try to 'bite' the bullet and watch it as I heard it improved)
DC has done alot of good on their tv shows and now with Supergirl,Titans,Krypton and many more coming I think 2015 will be quite entertaining especially with Marvel bringing the Defenders, hopefully they can try and make the Daredevil tv show good.
