Have we given you enough spoiler warnings? In tonight's episode of The Flash, Dr. Harrison Wells murdered Cisco for discovering that he is the Reverse-Flash. The msterious character finally revealed that his true name is Eobard Thawne and that he has been trapped in the past for fifteen years. He also confirmed that he's a distant relative of Detective Eddie Thawne and that he is responsible for killing Barry's mother, though his intention that night was to kill The Flash. Based on comments from executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, Reverse-Flash is indeed from the 25th Century just like his comic book counterpart. "Imagine if one of us was transported back into the past with no antibiotics and no internet and no indoor plumbing. Every day in this time is an assault on him." He adds that Wells is not an "evil man" and that he sees "himself as a hero."
Cavanagh meanwhile adds that all Thawne is doing is "trying to get home", and while he has a genuine affection for his S.T.A.R. Labs team, that won't stop him doing what's necessary to return to his own time. "As we see in this episode, it makes it a little more heartbreaking when the next phase of the plan starts to happen," the actor teases. With Barry now back in time (a few days before Wells killed Cisco), the episode has in some ways raised more questions than it answered...
