Stephen Amell And Grant Gustin Tease Their ARROW/THE FLASH Crossover Fight Scene

Arrow and The Flash will indeed feature a fight between the two heroes, and in this interview with the actors who play Oliver Queen and Barry Allen, they drop some new details about what we should expect from that and how the worlds of Starling and Central City collide...

We've obviously already seen Barry Allen and The Arrow share the small screen, but both shows will soon collide in an epic crossover which will see the two costumed heroes fighting side-by-side...and each other?! IGN managed to catch up with both actors recently and The Flash's Grant Gustin had this to say about how the interaction between the two characters. "I was talking about this yesterday with a friend; about how Oliver and Barry are so different and me and Stephen are just really different," the actor told the site. "We really get along outside of work and it’s been fun to Barry and Oliver kind of butting heads. We’re seeing them learn how to work together, but it’s really funny because they’re so different and the conversations they have are hilarious."

Stephen Amell meanwhile has his own thoughts on the crossover and dropped some hints about a huge moment which will apparently occur for his character when The Arrow meets The Flash. "It’s my idea," he teased. "I can’t tell you anything about it other than it relates to Central City. When I saw it in the Flash script, it ended up being really actually quite gratifying. First of all, when I say it was my idea, everyone has ideas all the time. It all goes into a melting pot. I just thought it would be a cool idea. I thought it would be a cool idea for The Flash. It ended up being a cool idea that we were able to utilize me for because we were doing a crossover with The Flash. So it was very professionally gratifying." Well, that's intriguing! What this moment could be is unknown, but the Amell did at least go into more detail about what he's most looking forward to in terms of both character interactions and shooting some of the big action scenes for both episodes. "It was me and Grant. I mean, episode 108 [of The Flash] is called "Flash vs. Arrow." Our titles aren’t just titles. You can bet based on the title that we fight. So, that whole dynamic -- which took place over three nights of shooting -- was a very new and different experience for me just from a technical standpoint, just because The Flash has so many effects. We do our fights [on Arrow]. On Monday, we are shooting the biggest fight we’ve ever done on Arrow in an incredibly practical way. I’m shooting 100% of it. I have no double. So that’s crazy and that’s us. This was them."

As we've already mentioned, the two heroes do come to blows at some point during the crossover, and the Arrow star continued by elaborating on the process of shooting these scenes as well as a tease about The Flash characters that Oliver Queen gets to meet during his trip to Central City.
"I actually had to do a move [in the crossover] where I’m going to punch and I had to punch in slow motion and literally do slow motion faces and all that stuff. All the little things are… You can tell that the writers have been waiting for the opportunity to mix these worlds and mix certain characters for a long time. I personally really enjoyed working with Carlos [Valdes, who plays Cisco]. He’s just a very, very fun character and I think that one of the most interesting parts about the whole crossover is an observation that Oliver makes about Harrison Wells." Will we finally get some hints about Wells' true identity? What do you guys think about these comments?

It'll be interesting how they have Arrow go one-on-one with The Flash. my guess is to stop him, you have to prevent him reaching his speeds or it is game over

@Marvel it's easier than watching a cinematic universe to know what the heck half the episodes of AoS are referencing.

Sad how Arrow and Flash are collectively better than most of the MCU and all of the current "DCCU".

Can't freaking wait for this crossover.

Why should I care about the possibilities of maybe getting future DC films when I already have a great DC Universe on TV?

@NerdMan I have watched them all, some good, some bad... Just making a point that watching one episode to understand another is pretty easy when compared

Interesting that the crossover comes so early. I guess it gives them more time to focus on the shows individual arcs, which will barely resemble each other when the finales come around.

@Scorpion8125

At first I was against the film/tv crossover but after seeing who they got to play Flash on film...

I really hope WB reconsiders.

Arrow came out before Man of steel right? so they weren't gonna start a universe with a tv show on the CW. Geoff said they wanted to keep the universes seperate so every department could make the product the best they can without having to obey the movies. and the result? you guys love Arrow and Flash, and soon constantine is coming. plus stephen amell said himself that the logistics of crossing over the universes wouldn't work because their shooting 10 months for their shows so it would be hard to get everyone to be together. i love Arrow and Flash and The flash movie doesn't come out till 2018 and we will probably see ezra in justice league which is in 2017 3 years from now so flash will be in season 4 by that time so you won't see ezra for a long time. Stop complaining and worrying about stephen and grant they are making their own justice league for TV. i excited to see who the roster is for their justice league.

I would love a Justice League team up, but much rather it be a Justice League of America (New 52). I don't want Flash to be part of that team. Sure he can be in the episode, maybe even say he's been invited to be part of another team. Especially with Barry Allen coming to the big screen in a Justice League movie. But if Ezra Miller was to be portraying Wally West, now that's another story
