Most people were okay with The Flash's recent reveal that Jay Garrick has been Hunter Zolomon/Zoom in disguise the whole time but hardcore Jay Garrick fan, Mark Waid took issue with the twist on his twitter account, claiming that he was done with the show for what they'd done to Jay Garrick. This prompted an interesting response from Flash showrunner, Greg Berlanti, where he addressed the issue and gave insight into whether there is a real Jay on the show. A plot point that will likely lead into the reveal of the man in the iron mask.

Mark Waid is a phenomenal writer, love his work. With that said, its a CW show's interpretation and Jay Garrick is such a C-list hero, nothing to freak out about. Imagine it not being a CW show but a blockbuster movie, and the character not being Jay Garrick but Superman, that would be bad to butcher! oh wait.. I kid, I kid

@Elayem - Jay Garrick isn't C list to fans of the Flash comic. And Mark Waid's Daredevil was terrible

@zodstein - Yeah Im talking in general. Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man are A-list heroes in general. Jay Garrick is important in Flash comics sure but he is still a C-List character. No one knows him except regular Flash readers. Everyone knows Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man
I havent read Waid's daredevil, but I've read Kingdom Come and Superman: Birthright and both of those were terrific. His Daredevil run has received pretty good reviews though.

I don't know anything about this Mark Waid thing but Jay is an important part of the Flash mythos, and as cool as Sears is as Zoom, as a fan I really don't like this direction. I do hope the iron mask guy is the real Jay but I'm not holding my breath.

I wish I could find my old ass posts calling this whole thing. I was probably the only guy here who called all of this, including the Iron Mask being the real Jay Garrick.

All this Earth 2 talk, maybe the dude in the iron mask is Jay Garrick from Earth 3! Zoom stole his speed first.

I hope the real Jay is in his late sixties or early seventies like how he is in the comics.
