Though we never really bought into this one, a rumor that Grant Gustin, who plays the Scarlet Speedster in The CW's The Flash series, was set to appear in the upcoming movie did the rounds a while back, and the actor has now responded.

The report claimed that the Barry Allen actor was actually being lined up to replace troubled star Ezra Miller as the new big-screen take on the Fastest Man Alive, but if that is the plan, nobody told Gustin.

"No. (Laughs) No, there’s been a lot of rumors out there for a long time. And no one’s come out directly and asked me ever, you know, on the record," he said during an interview with TV Line. "And the entire time, people ask me on the street all the time, and yeah, I’m not keeping some big elaborate secret, no."

Gustin was also asked if he felt he should have been given the opportunity to audition to play Allen in the movie.

"No, I mean, I was happy. I was working with Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti, guys that I couldn’t be more grateful to be working with and guys that I knew really understood who the Flash was and really wanted to take care of the character, so I was happy where I was. It’s just been there the whole time, but not really, because now it’s finally coming out as we wrap up."

Though the show doesn't seem to be quite as popular as it was in the early days, Gustin is still viewed as a top-notch Barry Allen, so we can't imagine many having an issue if he did take over as the DCU's Flash going forward.

What do you guys make of Gustin's comments? Be sure to share your thoughts down below.

This film has to fail to send Hollywood a message that groomers have no business staring in kid films.💁

If he replaces Miller in the future, great. If someone else is cast as Barry Allen, fantastic. All that matters is that they don't move forward with Miller. Here's hoping the DCU reboots the flash and we see folks like the rogues, Thawne, and Grodd.

OT:

Lmao i was right once again. Quantumania was hit. Grossing between 70-100mil.

Marvel spent only 150mil on production budget. IT'S A FACT😂😂

Marvel didn't want to spend the money. Making it under their new UK production company Pym Productions III. They knew the UK was offering tax incentuves for films made entierly in the UK earning them a 40mil dollar tax rebate for filming their. PPIII reportedly spent 190mil out of their pocket. Knowing the tax rebate would cover additional cost totaling the production budget to 150mil.

Double that, add advertising AM:Q only needed 380mil to break even. It sits at 474mil ww atm.

Told you guys Marvel wasn't going to spend the money on an Antman movie after while covid has the theaters down.

Besides all that even at 200mil AM still wouldn't have failed. 474 covered ×2 budget and advertising.

@AnthonyVonGeek - This. There's no stopping the movie. They paid for a Superbowl trailer already. It's passed the Rubicon. But this is where we draw the line.

No further.

Ezra Miller's got to go.

@DrReedRichards, I have no idea what this has to do with this topic, but I'd say Quantumania underperformed than outright bombed. Fury of the gods wishes it did as well as Quantumania.
