THE FLASH's Danielle Panabaker Comments On A Possible Transformation Into 'Killer Frost'

Danielle Panabaker talks here about her role in hit new CW series The Flash, sharing her thoughts on whether knowing that Caitlin Snow one day becomes Killer Frost changes how she approaches playing the character and weighs in on the seemingly sinister Dr. Harrison Wells...

S.T.A.R. Labs is one very mysterious place, especially with Dr. Harrison Wells in charge and two other characters who we know one day become Killer Frost and Vibe! The former is played by Danielle Panabaker, and in a recent interview with IGN, The Flash star was asked how she feels knowing that Caitlin Snow one day becomes a villain. "I think it’s really exciting. What’s so cool about this show is how, at least in my experience, how faithful they are being to all the comic book lore. They are so respectful of the stories that have been told and it’s exciting. The thought that goes into the Flash costume and all of that. It would be exciting to be a part of that."

However, as for whether or not knowing that she may one day suit up as Killer Frost and that Cisco could become Vibe changes her performance at all, she added: "I don’t think so. I don’t think it changes things for me, as an actor because a lot like the audience, we’re getting the scripts one week at a time and just sort of taking this new information. Obviously we’ve had conversations with Andrew [Kreisberg] and Greg and Geoff [Johns] about what’s happened before and that sort of thing but it’s kind of fun to be that audience member who gets every new script. I mean, truthfully when they come in, I’m like a little kid in a candy store. I like can’t wait to read it and I’m squinting, reading it on my iPhone, and I can’t wait to see what happens." It sounds as if we're a long way off from seeing that happen, something which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering what a great supporting character and friend to Barry Allen Caitlin has been so far.

Panabaker was then asked to weigh in on Dr. Harrison Wells, a character many fans believe could be Reverse-Flash. "It’s hard for me, as an actor, because obviously I see the whole script and now I’m seeing the episodes but Caitlin doesn’t know that but she comes back to Star Labs because she believes in Wells. If you think about Star Labs and the vastness of it, how many scientists were working there and how many people were there… The fact that she and Cisco are the only two that show up again, just in a very sort of silent way, demonstrates their belief in him so we’re starting this journey with the upmost respect and passion for him. I don’t know that they’re at a place where they want to see Wells’ flaws if that makes sense." What do you guys think?

I have to admit, it is kind of hard to picture Danielle as a villain. However, that may just be me. Definitely a good show, though. Can't wait to see where they go with some of it.

@DCGuy both Marvel and DC have a long way to go have the "best CB show ever". Walking Dead is currently killing in that category.

I wonder what show next the CW is going to hit out of the park, maybe The Atom? Or maybe even Firestorm: The atomic man? Hope that extra episode the flash has planned is a back door pilot (fingers crossed)

@HAILHYDRA while I do not love marvel, I can say clearly that TWD is not a faithful CB show, it's just a lose interpretation, so many things changed, would Batman be Batman if his parents dont die? would capt america be the capt if he had no serum? NO TWD has changed characters, deaths, lives, limbs and more. it's not a faithful cb show it's the least canon CB show ever

Flash IS the best comic book television show on at the moment.

@DCGuy

In all fairness if the TWD stayed faithful to the comics it would get a rating of NC17 and would not be shown....... but I get what you are saying. Either way it is a personal preference on what the best comic book based show is on right now.

@HAILHYDRA

Walking Dead is decent at best. There are so many plot holes, stupid character decisions, weak directing, and weak writing in so many episodes of that show. And this is coming from a fan. For every great moment in Walking Dead, there's a stupid moment that has to come with it at some point. Like in the most recent episode, where the "plans" from both sides made absolutely NO sense.

@DCGuy TWD the least canon CB show ever? Come on dude it still follows the comics out line and that is better than a lot a past CB shows.

I think numbers speak for themselves regarding TWD's success

@Mrsotoman I like that theory but I got one too, Thawne and Wells are both a reverse flash, both from a different time. And I think they might go with the whole twin brother story line where a doctor was delivering the thawne's child and it was still born but before he had time to tell the thawne's the awful news he had to go help the Allen's with a delivery of there twins. After the doctor is done he makes a decision to give the Thawne's one of the Allen's twins (not identical twins FYI)and then tell the Allen's that one of there twins was still born. And basically Thawne finds out and is jealous of Barry's life and because zoom. And Wells will be the traditional thought of Zoom from the 25th century and is the one who murdered Barry's Mom. With time travel all is possible in this show.

TWD is the best comic book show on to but my favourite is the Flash. The only thing I dislike is Cico. He's like the Thea and Laurel of the Flash. Let's hope they don't wait till Season 3 to turn him into Vibe.

To anyone who argues a show on the CW has better writting and directing than a show on AMC... just stop your opinion is flawed

Neat article - my first thought was that it was the supergirl show- but a superman prequel?

I would say that The Flash is the best superhero comic book show. Since The Walking Dead is a different genre. As for Panabaker, imo she is the worst actor on the show, but I would love to see her become Killer Frost.

@Hailhydra LOL numbers? so a tv show is popular and not even half of the pp watch it KNOW about the original material or comic. big ratings make shows good? no they make them popular. but just like in school popular is not also good.

@Dmon @JoeMomma29 yeah but like I said, they don't have to be gore but they could have cut rick's hand off like the comics and why did the producers said no? because it was too dificult to write him with 1 hand...also the changes in character death are very wrong, not to mention the changes in personality and changes in reasons and more.

funny how we can't have a normal convo here, just because my name is DCGuy does not mean I only watch DC, it's funny that the word FANBOY gets thrown here as an intent to insult but it's more like the general community here.

@DCGuy Robert Kirkman said that cutting off Rick's hand in the comic was the biggest mistake and regret he ever had about the comic. He wishes he could reverse it so with the show he was able to do that.

@Dmon that was just 1 example bro, but again, Carol's change, Tyreese, Bob for Dale, Daryll being untouchable, so many other things, not saying they are bad, they are just changes that make it less and less faithful to the comic, there is a good space for change but some things you can't do or change because it stop being the same as the comic in essence
Dmon
Dmon - 10/27/2014, 7:54 AM
@DCGuy I like most of the changes the only change I did not like was the change to Andrea's character. And like I said before the story outline is still there.
Dmon
Dmon - 10/27/2014, 8:03 AM
@DCGuy Also I like the slight changes because it makes the show surprising and don't want to know everything will happen. To me the show is the right amount of faithfulness and the right amount of something new.

I read some TWD comics after watching the show and the tv show is much better. The only thing about the comics that I liked better was how quickly they tied up the Shane storyline.
