We are all well aware of Marvel's upcoming THOR film directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Hemsworth. Many fans are not aware of the fact that Asylum, a company known for it's mockbuster films, has already started filming The Almighty Thor in Los Angeles. This straight to DVD film is set to hit stores April 26th, not too long before Marvel's THOR hits theaters.

Chris Ray who has already directed Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus for Asylum is at the helm as director for the film. Legendary professional wrestler Kevin Nash (Big Sexy) is portraying Odin Thors father and Richard Greico (best known as the star of 21 Jump Street and a number of B movies) is set to bring Thor's brother Loki to life. Newcomer Cody Deal is starring as the thunder god himself, Thor. Other cast members include Patricia Velasquez and Nicole Fox.

Almighty Thor description from DREADcentral...

When the demon god Loki destroys the fortress of Valhalla and steals the Hammer of Invincibility, only the young hero Thor can protect Earth from Armageddon.

Why is it Americans can't get history right?He's wearing Greek armour!If you're going to make a movie about the Norse Thor at least do your research! Red hair,beard,and the right style armour please or not at all.Pathetic and cheap.I mean how long does it take to at least google the subject and find out the facts?Lazy arsed bastards.As a man of Norse descent I'm a bit offended by this.Not enough to remember this movie five minutes from now,but enough to comment on this rubbish.

They can do a Thor movie because it is based on myth but Asylum makes money on these movies by selling them to SyFy and the DVD sales. I'll check it out because I'm all about the cheese factor. They reuse the props from other movies and film these things in like a month or so, can't wait for the release on Netflix.

oh my goodness...are they really that serious. I can't believe such a company exists. I know the Cinema Snob loves these films but they should be sued for Copyright infringement....IDC if they know some kind of loopholes in movie deals, its still wrong...they may be bad, but making a knock buster is just plain stupid

They probably did that Transformers knock-off, "Transmorphers". Can't believe actors would degrade themselves to be in those kinds of movies no matter how desperate they are.

Anything with Richard Greico screams automatic FAIL! We saw him end "21 Jump Street" and don't even get me started on "Booker". Anyway, fail or not, I do have a fondness for this kind of junk (the worse it is, the more I like it) so I'll probably DVR it when they show it on SyFy (not like I'll actually sit through the commercials) but boy, will it suck - LOL.
