Actually, I started looking at Prime from T1 & T2, they did in fact change his design a little more and beefed him up. Even his paint job changed slightly.

Just because this movie is a "popcorn summer blockbuster" doesn't mean it has to be devoid of any acting talent whatsoever. I mean look at Star Trek. Summer blockbuster popcorn flick? Check.
Great acting, great storyline, great action? Check, check , and check. I think that pretty much proves that a well rounded summer blockbuster can be made.

What I'm sick of is people defending this movie and the last based on the "well it's an action flick you shouldn't expect Godfather-esque performances." F*ck that. If Bay and the writers of these films (which I can't really blame because they wrote the script for Star Trek) didn't want the humans to be a focal point of the movie, then they wouldn't play such a prominent role. But they do and that is where the problem starts with me.

I could handle a Transformers movie that is balls to the wall action with little to no human interaction. If that's the case then they can cast f*cking Paulie Shore in it for all I care. But it's not just a balls to the wall action film is it? I seem to remember a love story and some drama in the last one so if the last movie is any indication, it's not.

So if that's the case why can't we get a few half decent performances out of the actors? It's either because Bay doesn't have the ability to, the script sucks, or, a combination of both.

And why do people like me complain? Because we know a better film can be made and we're disappointed and let down. Plain and simple.

I'm still reserving final judgment until I see it, but if the things I've seen, the reviews I've read, and the last movie is any indication, I'll be disappointed yet again.

You're missing the point. Who's asking for Oscar nominations? Not me and certainly no one else. None of the actors from Star Trek are going to win Oscars and I don't expect them to, but it was still a fantastic movie.

Excusing Michael Bay for being a hack is not the answer. I mean you call critics "fags" for describing this movie as being exactly what it is and what you describe it as. This "filler" as you call it, is what ruins movies like this. Like I said before, if it's meant to be such a "popcorn" sensory overload movie, why not just do away with the a-list actors and their huge salaries? Because Bay thinks he's getting good performances out of his actors. If he didn't, he and the studio wouldn't have brought them back.

And really at this point, what is the difference between Michael Bay and Joel Schumacher:

Schumacher = Bat-nipples

Bay = Decepticon testicles

So I've discovered the way Sam dies in this movie. Sam get's all turned on by seeing Devastators testicles and filled with lust, Sam chokes trying to teabag the giant Decepticon. Can anybody confirm this for me? :)
