If you're of a certain age, chances are high that the 1982 fantasy film, The Beastmaster, has a special place in your heart.  If this is you, the news that actor Marc Singer has joined the cast of The CW's Arrow will surely make your day.  Singer will be portraying  General Matthew Shrieve, known in the pages of DC Comics as the commanding officer of The Creature Commandos - a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein's monster and a gorgon.    CBR reports:

In the DC Comics, Matthew Shrieve is the leader of a group known as the Creature Commandos. In 'Arrow' he will play a significant role in the latter portion of the season's flashback storyline.

Does Shrieve's presence herald that The Creature Commandos are not far behind? Probably not, given the show's endeavors to remain as realistic as possible. Still, with Arrow seemingly heading towards Ra's Al Ghul's Lazarus Pit, perhaps Arrow is adapting a more supernatural-friendly policy?

Arrow returns from its Season 3 hitaus on January 21.
