DC TV Roundup - SUPERMAN & LOIS "Bizarros in a Bizarro World," THE FLASH "Reckless," & NAOMI "Fallout"

While Superman & Lois will be off for a few weeks, The CW has still released an extended trailer for the next installment, which looks insane! Plus, new promos for The Flash and Naomi!

Following another excellent installment, Superman & Lois is heading off on hiatus for a few weeks, but thankfully, The CW has gone ahead and shared an extended trailer for the next installment, titled "Bizarros in a Bizarro World," revealing a deeper dive into Bizarro's (Tyler Hoechlin) homeworld.

The sneak preview also promises a multiverse-hopping adventure as, in addition to Clark, we see various different versions of Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch), Jonathan (Jordan Elsass), and Jordan (Alexander Garfin). This may also help explain those curious set photos we saw a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, on The Flash, Frost (Danielle Panabaker) lands herself in hot water when she decides to take on the Black Flame herself, leading Barry (Grant Gustin) to take seriously drastic measures to save her. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) has an interesting encounter with a local teen.

"Bizarros in a Bizarro World" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

TBD (#210). Original airdate 4/26/2022.

"Reckless" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

WITH BATED BREATH - Barry's (Grant Gustin) desire to keep Team Flash safe is tested when Frost (Danielle Panabaker) recklessly courts danger as she tries to stop the "Black Flame", meanwhile, Iris, (Candice Patton) tries to help a teen girl reunite with her mother but unintentionally does more harm than good. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Kayla Compton and Brandon McKnight. Kellie Cyrus directed the episode written by Jess Carson (#810). Original airdate 4/6/2022.

"Fallout" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

TBD (#110). Original airdate 4/26/22.

That Superman and Lois episode was one of the best ones they've made to date. Excellent. And Supes was barely even in it, which is a testament to the writing and the supporting characters.

Superman and Lois : Strong episode, the first superman light episode and it worked. Nice to see John Henry back in action and the Jordan stuff was cool. for a sec thought they were using some footage from the supergirl pilot before the Steel reveal. They are really doing everything to ignore the other shows and its for the best.

Flash : move Grant to the movies, he would get better writing. this show is power rangers level now. not even good power rangers.

Naomi ; ill consider giving it a second go when its on hbomax, for now, while i thought it was well made, did not think it was the show for me.

@dracula - They showed the anti-matter wave from Crisis last week almost killing John Henry and Natalie before they arrived to Earth Prime so they actually aren't.

And I get why the Power Rangers mocking because of Flash S7, but why even to the current one?

surprised no changes to the steel suit, the smashed in chest plate and busted helmet seemed like obvious set up for a comic accurate upgrade

@dracula - I know they're all buddy buddy now but I still think he'd be a bit hesitant to wear the crest of the man who killed his wife/mother of his child...

Man, even when Jon gets powers he can't catch a break because it's actually Bizarro Jon.

Superman & Lois was able to deliver an episode without half of it's lead actors, it worked out well.

The only thing I realized that wasn't addressed in the episode was Lucy's betrayal, no comments about it from Lois or if even Sam shared it. Maybe they skipped it because it is kind of obvious he wouldn't keep it a secret and will deal with it later.

When Clark was spinning around before going through the portal it seemed he was trying to gain momentum or a protective air barrier. If not then it looked a lot like when Barry runs in circles trying to charge lightning.

I remember the synopsis teasing John Henry and Lana showing sparks of attraction between each other but it was just a red herring that Natalie misinterpreted on the same day of their Lois' passing away in their Earth. His breakdown when he saw again the footage of his Lois holding baby Natalie reminded me of Interstellar with Matthew McConaughey. And it was awkward when Sarah tried to cheer her up with remembering her mom in Día de los Muertos because she can't show the picture of Lois Lane.

Natalie 🤝 Iris: struggling with making breakfast.

Jordan sure has grown a lot as a person and with his powers, this time he really did display super speed when he could perceive how slow the enforcer's X-K heat vision was going at him. Lois now will slowly agree with Sam that it was for the best to train her son for these situations. X-K plot is done in Smallville's black market but it isn't in worlwide levels.

Those fire tornadoes that almost killed Kyle were suspictious and I doubt it was some alternative X-K reaction from that warehouse. Add another mystery in the list.

Lana is the mayor now, but I wonder if the celebrations will last long. Sucks Kyle could not be there for the family hug.

Since the breakup between Sarah and Jordan happened while the story isn't over I will not rule out that they get back together later. Lack of communication from Jordan's side is what did it this time because if she still had any lingering feelings for Aubrey then she would have already be with her during the one month timejump. I predict she is going to start putting things together one way or other especially now that Jon-El arrived on Earth Prime. No way they can keep both Jons out of sight for too long.

And Jonathan did feel a headache near the end of the episode, a clear sign of Jon-El's arrival and reminder of what happens when your doppelgänger is on your Earth.

My thoughts about the extended S&L trailer:

That corpse at the beginning that is a skeleton has next to it the mask of a Hazmat suit. Looke like some of Ally's followers did not make in one piece once they came out from the other side of the portal.

Hmm, judging by the footage of Clark giving the good news to Tal-Rho of Lois' pregnancy (it must be their baby Bizarro Natalie) which is apparently followed by him meeting Lana as a bartender and then marrying her (again judging by that other scene of Lana wearing that dress with flowers decorations beside her), the ones showing Bizarro Jonathan signing autographs and his sarcasm about the award that his dad is getting (Lois' "can we try to have one nice night together as a family?" implies they're not as warm as the ones we know) and the rest where the family appears in some bunker due to the background in that scene with Sam makes me think that we're gonna see Bizarro's origin story but through Clark, somehow, living in his shoes.

Maybe he even goes through the experience of becoming Bizarro as that scene shows a disheveled Superman. Because throughout the footage the S crest on his chest is still pointing to the right, not to the left like it is with Bizarro.

That Bizarro Lois talking about their Ally finding the portal that leads to Earth Prime means that they seemed to be against her but if they are in a bunker it means that they "lost" against her and had to take shelter to escape from her.

Perhaps they're still there waiting for their Clark to return from his mission of destroying the pendant that led him to Earth Prime and we know the rest of that story.

At least that's what I'm trying to deduce.

(Flash review coming soon once I see the episode)

That was a great Superman & Lois episode, one of the strongest from this season so far.

Love that they're even doing the mirrored crest for the show's logo. It's the little details they put into this show that make it stand out.

The last episode felt like an entire season of Smallville condensed into one episode lol

@Himura - Just watched the Flash. I dunno why I still do. There's like, zero character development even for the supporting cast. Dunno how when they barely focus on Barry at this point.

Chester's character has been the same as before. There's always some secret about his past that he keeps hiding and the entire episode would be solved in 5 minutes if he just told them the truth. I cant remember the last time we had a Chester centric episode where this wasnt the case. The most character development him an Allegra has had was being horny for each other and playing DnD.

Cecille's actress is always overacting and it's incredibly offputting.

@Himura - Chester not giving into the flames' torment and trickery of making him give what they wanted from him but instead rejecting it is not considered character development?

The thing with Cecile is that she's an empath, with that power set you end up being very responsive and also expressive of the emotions that are all flowing aroud you so there's no helping it.

@NinnesMBC - Lack of character development in the sense that he has learned absolutely nothing every time he keeps parts of his past a secret to the rest of the team. It's literally all this character does on the show: hides pertinent info from the group, gets a pep talk, 40 minutes later he realizes he's a moron and should've told everyone earlier, problem suddenly gets resolved.

It's just lazy writing in order to create a false sense of conflict in the episode.

@Himura - Except that pertinent part was a personal and private one that he'd only shared before with Cisco given the circumstances they were. No one discloses that kind of info so openly, less when it involves the death of a family member which can always be a sensible topic.

The conflict already existed before with no one knowing how to fight back the flames and that carries on.

Finally watched The Flash and it was a solid start to the 2nd story arc, did not expect there to be so much stress with the Black Flame acting up between Chester's dreams and then in the real world.

I liked how the effects they use for them especially when they moved in the lounge scene and started taking shape. It's so sinister and eerie. It's a good mystery with all the clues they're trying to come up but the last one seem to be it: they're alive with a mind of their own and with an appetite on the worst kind of human emotions to become stronger. (Reminds me of Eclipso a little bit)

Still betting on that the flames could have been originally the Flame of P'ytar that something happened to them after Barry severed their connection with Despero, the dark color could mean they were corrupted by someone or something since neither Kiler Frost nor Flash can stop them.

Strong episode for Chester, his best one yet. The what-if scene of his dad having a tour around STAR Labs with him was touching. And his scenes with Allegra did work this time.

I wonder if Sue will stick around with Iris to help Tinya find her mom. Her situation of having latent metagenes made me think on Kramer which Barry did brought up during the episode. Not sure where they're going but I hope the stuff with Tinya can lead to where I think and hope it is, Legion stuff.

Deon being worried about what he found out of the time sickness is foreshadowing of how bad it is gonna get.

And the preview with Killer Frost offering as bait is perhaps due to her having some kind of resistance to the flames due to being made of ice powers so she feels she's got it under the bag. Easier said than done because the flames aren't just alive but they also don't seem to be of dark matter origin so they're not meta. She's gonna bit more than she can chew. Caitlin's gonna have to be around for that when something goes wrong.
