GAME OF THRONES Prequel Series Adds POLDARK Actor Josh Whitehouse As Title Is Seemingly Revealed
It's being reported that Josh Whitehouse (Poldark, Valley Girl) has been cast in one of the male lead roles in HBO's upcoming Game of Thrones prequel show. Plus, has George R.R. Martin revealed the title?
Last night, we found out that Naoimi Watts had landed the female lead role in HBO's planned Game of Thrones prequel series, and now Deadline reports that she'll be joined by Poldark actor Josh Whitehouse.
While we did get a brief description of Watts' character, there are zero details on who Whitehouse will be playing. However, we do know that it will be a "key role," though not the central male lead.
In related news, it looks like A Song of Ice and Fire creator George R.R. Martin may have revealed the title of the show when he Tweeted confirmation of Watts' casting.
It's worth noting that none of the trade reports mention "The Long Night" as the show's official title, so this could simply be what Martin is referring to it as for the time being.
“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East, to the Starks of legend … it’s not the story we think we know.”
