Watchmen great Graphic novel not so great movie

Yesterday i had the honor of watching the watchmen. Yes it has been out for three weeks but with college, being hitched, and work times have been hard. Anyway i just watched the watchmen yesterday and even though i am not hard core fan boy of the graphic novel i am still a fan and was highly disappointed with this film.

I know some people will get dissapointed with my review of the film but please take into context where i am coming from. First of all the beginning credits were good but did no justice to things like why show JFK get shot and what looks like the comedian shooting him in the graphic novel there is not mention or panel showing him killing JFK. also the fact of Adrian being gay to me it would have been funnier and followed the novel more if Rorschach would have stated that he thought Veidt was gay and need to investigate further. The movie also shows Nite owl doing most of the convincing of Rorschach masked killer theory but yet in the novel they disregard his theory until close to the end of the book. Synder promised fans that he would stay true to the source material and yet only the major scenes were not messed with. Dr. Manhattan's talk with Rorschach about him coming and asking manhattan to look into the future is BS. it doesn't help the movie move along at all where as following the novel the movie would have went by much smoother. Janey slater in the movie was horrible she was pissed at jon not sad and wanting him to go back to her any fan of the novel knows this. i think Synder might be gay with the showing of manhattan's dong in alot of scenes the novel doesn't even show that much dong. none of the heroes in the novel except manhattan have superhuman strengh or agility like they all had in the movie. the ending which was actually pretty good was on of te postive things i liked it fit making the reason jon leaves earth simple and was helps people understand then the squid would have. Viedt was american not german sounding like he sounded in the movie he was also alot bigger build unlike the skinny man i saw beat the crap out of comedian. Synderput to much time with the slow-mo effect instead of actually following the story and ruined the film i could have done a better job with the same cast and with out the slow-mo.

This ends my review of watchmen please send me a comment if there is any movie you gus would like me to review.

your whole review just criticized Snyder's changes, then applauded the biggest one of all!

I do not judge movies by their books.
Simply because even if it is a great movie, of course you are going to be disapointed no matter what they did with it because you already had imagery in your head, and when it is altered, you are disapointed.
And I do not judge a book by its movie.

Simply put in my perspective: I value the changes made in Watchmen because it seperated itself from the bookand made its own name for itself. And frankly, I liked the movie Ozymandias, mainly because it was a more realistic take on him. They could've done exactly like the comic, and he would've looked like a gay 70s blonde Patrick Warbuton pimp. but they didn't, they decided to go through with a more believable version of Veidt.
And studying film (I am a psychology of Film major), I value the directing, and Snyder has a definite talent. I was thoroughly impressed with his recreation scenes, and I liked the costume differences in the movie.(Silk Spectre 1 and Ozymandias especially). They are simply different from each other. I will not dislike one or the other because they are different because you can't expect them to make it exactly like the comic.

I liked the comic better, but I respect the movie for doing a great job. And I think by actually working on a movie will someone ever comprehend what a feat Watchmen was.
