Marvel Studios Reveals Yet Another AGATHA Title...And This Is By Far The Weirdest One Yet!

It appears Agatha is undergoing yet another title change as Marvel Studios has Tweeted and deleted a weird new moniker for the Disney+ series which suits Agatha Harkness perfectly. Read on for details...

Filed Under: Agatha: Coven of Chaos

When Marvel Studios first announced its WandaVision sequel, it was titled Agatha: House of Harkness. It then switched to Agatha: Coven of Chaos before becoming Agatha: Darkhold Diaries

Along the way, we've also seen evidence that it could be named Agatha All AlongAgatha: The Witches' Road, and Agnes of Westview, with the prevailing theory being that these are all episode titles and not the official final name of the Disney+ series.

Moments ago, Marvel Studios added another name to the mix by posting a logo to X which features Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe

That's one heck of a title, eh?

We'll see if this one sticks, but it's worth noting that as we write this, the studio has already removed the Tweet/X post in question. It's hard to believe this was sent out by mistake and the more likely possibility is it's yet another part of Agatha's slightly bizarre marketing campaign.

Meanwhile, rumours are swirling that a trailer could be released as soon as tomorrow, so we'll see where this one goes. The trades have previously reported that, rather than being a lack of decisiveness on Marvel Studios' part, the ever-changing titles are meant to reflect Agatha Harkness' chaotic, mischeiveous nature.

We were able to save a copy of the Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe logo before it was pulled so check that out below...

Agatha will feature the return of many familiar faces from WandaVision, including Emma Caulfield Ford (Sarah Proctor), Debra Jo Rupp (Sharon Davis), David Payton (John Collins), David Lengel (Harold Proctor), Asif Ali (Abilash Tandon), Amos Glick (Dennis), Brian Brightman (Sheriff Miller), and Kate Forbes (Evanora Harkness).

Kathryn Hahn will lead the ensemble, of course, while other noteworthy additions include Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.

Very few official plot details have been revealed for Agatha, though we expect it to largely revolve around Agatha tracking down Billy Maximoff (or vice versa) who, like his comic book counterpart, has been "reincarnated" as Billy Kaplan. Mephisto is also expected to appear, possibly played by Sacha Baron Cohen. You can learn more about the show's cast here.

Various scoopers have claimed the story will also feature the descendants of Evanora Harkness' coven - now known as the Salem Seven - coming back to claim their revenge on the woman who killed their mothers.

Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe is rumoured to premiere on Disney+ this September.

Hah , that’s a fun one and a nice homage to the Lion , The Witch & The Wardrobe…

I genuinely think the ever changing titles are being done on purpose as part of a cheeky marketing gimmick that is befitting of this version of Agatha.

Anyway even though I did enjoy Hahn’s Agatha , this is one of my more least anticipated MCU projects as of now (though I’m interested to see them expand the magic corner of the universe).

@TheVisionary25 - didn't catch that at all, but that's quite clever actually.

I'm guessing the final show is just gonna be ''Agatha'' and each of these subtitles are the episode titles.

@bkmeijer1 - Basically, for some, this show hasn't been well received. It is clever, and reserve judgement until I have something to form an actual opinion on.

@The1st - yeah I'm judging only this bit being clever. I actually look forward to this show since I have no idea what to expect

@marvel72 - now that is closer to the truth. You just know this is going to promise to deliver loads and fail to do so. The continuation of that awful Evan Peters twist is enough for me to say no thanks.

@Spike101 - I don't think they should be focusing on f*ck all characters when there is so much potential in all the better characters they own.

Agatha is not a fan favourite character in the comics and wasn't the most popular character from WandaVision.

Wanda and Vision are the stars of the show,if I had to pick a supporting character I would say Darcy.

How hard is it for them to choose a title? Do they even know what they're doing with the character?

@BobGarlen - Either they have wrapped production on the show, but are still constantly changing the show title because they don't know what they're doing with the character, or they've been posting episode titles with the logos as part of the marketing campaign. It's one of those for sure.

Not really hyped for this one but more of Plaza is easily the highlight for me. She has some great range.

I think the whole point of all these revolving titles, especially this new one, is to promote Agatha, the character as an untrusty source of information and a trickster. You can't take anything about her as truthful. She is a chameleon who constantly adapts to any situation. Agatha is probably going to be depicted as a person who consistently lies as a self-preservation mechanism for her villainy. With Loki now elevated to God-status in the MCU, Agatha could be rehabilitated as the new master manipulator in the MCU. I think Marvel is hoping she, in time, will be as beloved as a villain character, as Tom Hiddleston is as Loki. Kathryn Hahn, as an actress, has the charisma to carry that feat off beyond what she showed in WandaVision.

@String - It's funny all the mental handjobs that are made in this page only to justify everything Marvel does as if it were something artistic and not commercial garbage...
dude, even the producers think that shit...
I take back what I said, it's not funny anymore, it's just sad...
