Editorial Opinion

I apologize for the quality of this editorial. I'm writing this from my mobile as I don't have access to a computer this week.

It was just something that occured to me earlier today regarding Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the ramifications from the aborted take over of Hydra.

"Exposing all of Hydra's secrets...and S.H.I.E.L.D's."

What complications does it cause knowing that the Winter Soldier was responsible for the death of Howard and Maria Stark, and is that new found knowledge the catalyst for Tony Stark's interest to put together the pieces of a broken S.H.I.E.L.D?

Once the redemption side of the story is done and Bucky starts to fight alongside the other Avengers, how does that impact the team? After all, he pulled the trigger and set into motion a large amount of Tony's personal problems.
I would love to see a flash back scene of Bucky in full brain wash mode assassinating Howard and Maria.  How awesome that would be.

That's about it. I just wanted to jot down some of my thoughts and hopes as to where it could possibly go. Share yours below!

Well I got to say I didn't even think about the fact that now Tony will know his parent's death wasn't an accident but infact they were murdered by Caps old friend/howling commando who was brainwashed by Hydra... Thanks for pointing that out... And by the way put this in editorials.

Hell, should have kept in News "accidentally", get many more clicks, let the editors move it ;)

Good stuff, sounds like a very interesting future storyline...

I don't remember Obadiah saying he killed Tony's parents. But I think it would be even better if Obie was Hydra

From the first time I saw CA:WS I thought that was the reason why Tony was back as Ironman and all that, but I never think about this. The confrontation between Stark and Bucky could be a really good scene in a future movie.

Yeah, I was thinking about this as well.

Thumbed.

Yeah they'll probably talk about it in later films.Doubt they'll even mention it in AoU.

Where in the movie does it indicate Winter Soldier killed Stark's parents?

mctrinket- when they are talking to Zola, when people get close to discovering hydra's secrets (like howard) they are scratched of the list by the winter soldier.

zola says " when history did not cooperate history was changed" it then shows a quick image of the winter soldiers arm, then widow says "impossible shield would have knows. then Zola says "accidents happen" and shows pictures of dead howard and nick fury

I don't mind the editorial because you brought up a good question. SHIELD has it's secrets and i'm assuming that Nick Fury and some of the SHIELD agents are aware of these secrets.

As Stark said "His secrets have secrets". SHIELD is a mysterious secretive organisation which can't exactly be trusted. It happened with The Avengers when SHIELD where using HYDRA's weapons to build better weapons. I do believe that Nick Fury and SHIELD know about the death of Stark's parents and how they died by the hand of The Winter Soldier.

I doubt it'll be Stark that puts SHIELD back together. It'll probably be Coulson and his team that's the lynchpin there.

Did Winter Soldier himself do it? I don't remember that. I just remember that computer version of Zola saying that Hydra was responsible, not that the Winter Soldier did it.
kinghulk
kinghulk - 6/27/2014, 3:24 PM
Lhornbk- it wasent specifically said but it was heavily implied "zola says accidents happen" then they show howard stark and nick fury (who hydra assumed the winter soldier had killed). so it's safe to assume he killed him and made it look like an accident.

That's not what I got from that scene. The only thing I got from it was that Hydra arranged the accident. It seems to me that Hydra is the common denominator, not Winter Soldier (I'll have to watch it again when the Blu-ray comes out and see if I change my mind.) I doubt Winter Soldier was the only assassin that they used. Also, there is never any mention of him making his assassinations look like accidents, so why would he do that in this case? Plus, yeah Black Widow released Shield's secrets, which included a lot of Hydra's secrets. But, does that include that Hydra was responsible for the Stark accident? It was the Zola computer that told Cap & Black Widow that, and it was destroyed. So it is possible that the information about that not being an accident was not released.

you can watch cap TWS on putlocker i watched the scene to write here. you may be right but the fact there was a image of the winter soldier then zola says accidents happen and then showing news paper's saying howard dies in tragic accident and a similar thing with fury. and knowing that the winter soldier was behind fury's death makes me believe it was the winter soldier, but i could be wrong.

regarding tony knowing i think he will only find out if cap or widow or TWS tells him, unless he finds the info in a hydra computer.

I always thought they should've put Mandarin behind the hit on his folks, that would add alot of weight to him as a villain.

Iron Man 2 would open with Tony flying over middle-east again to hunt down weapon depots with Stark Industry weapons, and then he gets blown out of the sky by the Mandarin that tells him to stay the hell away.

The mandarin we got in Iron Man 3 was so horrible, and now i fear that IM3/Shane Hack/Drew Pearce ruined Age of Ultron too, there's been alot of noise that Mandarin is showing up in AoU.

Wardell has tweeted a hundred times about it, so if he does show up, it better not be Trevor or Killian. FFS
