Both comicbook TV shows "The Flash" and "Agents of SHIELD" did not fare well this past Tuesday night.

Agents of SHIELD marked a 1.5 in the all important 18-49 demo, down from last week's 1.7. Approximately 4.3 million viewers tuned in to the live show last night.

The Flash meanwhile suffered a big drop, losing 3 tenths about 18% of its audience from last week's 1.7 down to just 1.4 last night. Approximately garnering 3.3 million viewers.

Both show's may likely move up a tenth after live ratings are calculated later this week.

Flash dropped a lot. Damn

Thought it was a better episode than last weeks, hopefully Captain Cold's good though since the other villains haven't really been that great.

Both episodes were great. I'm sure the ratings will look better when DVD stats and On Demand are accounted for.

I never understood the ratings thing. Is this a typo?

1.5 = 4.3 million
1.4 = 3.3 million

Am I the one taking the crazy pills?!
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 10/22/2014, 11:44 AM
Oh wait, it has something to do with the number of people who get the network, or something doesn't it?

[frick]ing [frick]. I hate numbers that aren't logical.

@gamecreatorjj

1-(1.4/1.7) = 18%

That's how they're calculated, not simply 3/10.
Jordanstine
Jordanstine - 10/22/2014, 11:50 AM
@Spock0clock

Those numbers are for the important 18-49 demo, which is just a piece of the bigger ratings pie.
RocketRed

@Spock0Clock

That's the target audience rating number.
RocketRed
RocketRed - 10/22/2014, 11:51 AM
Like, there shows who have 9M millions viewers but might get cancelled because what matters is relative ratings.

I really should [frick]ing do an editorial on this shit.

Who's with me?

@gamecreatorjj

18% of 1.7 is 0.306, or a little over 3/10's.

Now can someone confirm for me that Flash's rating is higher (compared to its raw viewer number) because fewer households have CW. Is that actually what it is?

nothing can compete with the walking dead ratings,the best show based on a comic book.

@Jordanstine and RocketRed

Ah, thanks. I forgot about the all important demo numbers.

The TV rating system is so illogical...
RocketRed
RocketRed - 10/22/2014, 11:55 AM
@Spock0Clock

I don't think the number of households CW reaches has to do with it, I think it's just about the target audience.

Tho CW DOES in fact reaches less households (and often suffers with preemption as well).

The Flash probably didn't air in some places last night because of the game.

Very much so agreed. You have to factor in a LOT of stuff when analyzing it.

Okay, I'll do some more research on the subject. Just one thing, English is my second language, I'd looove for someone to proof read it.
