Premiere Date For Marvel And Netflix's DAREDEVIL Revealed?

Though it's not official, the PlayStation 3 version of Netflix has a premiere date listed for Marvel's Daredevil, and it's a lot closer to the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron than you may have suspected. Will we see a tie-in of some sort between the two? Read on for details!

The ever reliable @Marvel_Spider spotted the following premiere date for Daredevil, and while it is of course subject to change or could be an error of some sort, we may now have a better idea of when we'll see the 13-part series debut on the online streaming service. Of course, it's worth nothing that May 1st is the same date that Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released, so would Marvel be wise to release this show on the same day?! It's hard to say, although it wouldn't be at all surprising if that movie's after-credits scene was somehow tied to Daredevil and encouraged people to go home and watch it. We'll be sure to bring you more details on this when they come!

Yeah I don't know about this being released the SAME day as Avengers AOU.

2 weeks prior OR after the release the movie would be better.

"it's worth nothing that May 1st is the same date that Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released"

Nothing? Really? You don't think that's some information of worth?

I figured it'd be around May.

It's probably a placeholder date, it'll come out in May, but probably not that day.

Doubt a release date same as AOU. Maybe it'll premiere before or most likely after.

Excellent. Sooner the better for some DD!

I feel like there will be mention of the Avengers in DD but not much. I hope its not all the time like in AOS. We know it's the same universe we get it. Maybe mention how Matt may not envy or be inspired by the Avengers as much as people may think. He's all about protecting his home of Hell's Kitchen and not worried about the rest of the world. He street level obviously. (A fight between Cap and DD would be badass doubt that ever happens haha.)

I wonder if Black Widow will ever run into DD like in the comics? That'd be cool

That's the same as AoU. Like @JamesMan said, probably a placeholder.
LeonNova

It probably won't release on the exact same day Age Of Ultron comes out, but probably around the same time at least. I know I'll be watching both of them immediately the day they come out and I'm really excited for them. I wouldn't really count on Daredevil being in the AOU post-credits scene unless he's going to have a role in a future MCU film, but I would think they'd want to get through Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the Defenders mini-series before they even discuss anything like that. As far as the show tying in to AOU goes, I don't think there's anyway possible that an assault on the entire planet by an army of killer robots wouldn't be acknowledged in any of the netflix shows. I'm pretty sure Ultron will attack New York, especially since that's where Avengers tower is located.
LeonNova
LeonNova - 10/12/2014, 7:01 PM
And another reason Daredevil wouldn't be in an AOU post-credits scene is that he's a street-level character and I fail to see how any scene involving him would bare any significance to the future of the MCU in the same way as Thanos appearing at the end of Avengers did. If anything, the post-credits scene in AOU is almost guaranteed to again be Thanos-related, maybe the Guardians Of The Galaxy will make an appearance or something.

If it's the same days AoU, watch AoU, come home, watch Daredevil.

UGHHHH. That's too damn far. I already have to wait til June for Arkham Knight, and two [frick]ing years for BvS. Why is everything always so far away?

This is totally a computer glitch. It was likely entered as coming in May and defaulted to the 1st. It makes ZERO sense to release this the same day you have the biggest movie you've ever done coming out and several weeks left of a show you desperately want people to watch. It will be out the last Friday of May. AoS will be done and Ultron will have had a month in theatres.

@0megaDaGod

I don't think there are enough hours in a day for that, lol.

Next year is going to be pretty significant for the MCU.

Agent Carter.

Second Half of Agents of Shield Season 2.

13 hours of Daredevil.

2.5 hours of Age of Ultron.

2 hours of Ant-Man.

High likelihood of 13 hours of another Netflix Marvel series.

Season 3 of Agents of Shield.

@OmegaDaGod How many days to you think it would take to marathon the whole MCU taking into account sleep and food? Might need to book a vacation for Ultron's release date.

I don't see this premiering until after Agents of SHIELD, which won't be until late May, probably. When Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out, they want nothing to distract from that. When the season final of AoS airs, which will probably have something big, dealing with the aftermath of AoU, they'll want nothing to distract from that. When their first Netflix Original series gets uploaded all at once, they'll want nothing to distract from that. Business and marketing wise, it makes no sense to release it any time before the Agents of SHIELD season finale, let alone the same day as Age of Ultron.

I reviewed the entire MCU before GotG, but couldn't make it through all of AoS. It's just a hard show to watch. I just pick the least offensive episodes.
