Perhaps the least well-received aspect of Jessica Jones' second season was the arc given to Rachael Taylor's Trish Walker, a storyline that is sure to continue in the show's upcoming third season.

During a Q&A session at Comicpalooza, Ritter was asked about the pair's future and if Jessica would be able to forgive Trish following the events of "AKA Playland".

“I don’t know and I’ve been thinking a lot about that because we’re going into season 3 and how things were left were so hardcore,” Ritter said. “I built so much of my performance and so much of what I do with the character, if I ever get lost or if I’m ever like, ‘oh, what am I gonna do with this scene,’ I kind of always go back to Jessica’s love for Trish."

Ritter goes on to talk about just how much Trish's actions impacted the titular heroine and how this change in status quo challenges her as an actress, “Trish is the most important person to her. And now she has betrayed her in this huge way, and I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I think it’s gonna be an interesting challenge for me, in my performance, to flip it. Ritter revealed. "And really, that’s gonna be a big struggle I think, because it’s the only person she loves and lives for, to now have that taken away from her I think is gonna be really, really challenging and tricky. Yeah, I don’t know.”

Despite her character's on-screen actions, however, Ritter had a lot of praise for her co-star Taylor. “I love when Racheal and I are on the same page, I love when we’re out investigating things together,” Ritter said. “We have so much fun, she’s like my real life best friend and sister, so now the dynamic is gonna be really different.”

What do you think? Were you a fan of Trish in season 2? Where would you like to see the character go in season 3? Leave your thoughts below.

Wow... it's lonely here.

Well, I hope season 3 improves over S2 because god damn, that season was such a huge disappointment.

@Toecutter - Yeah. IF being barely okay and Defenders being such a massive letdown, I'm getting less and less invested in those shows. Only Punisher and DD have the potential (and Hero for Hire if they were smart) to keep up the original qualities.

@CapA - True. Although I still haven't given up hope. I expect for IF, LC, and S3 of this to at least be improvements over their predecessors. LC looks good so far, apart from that cringe clip from a few days ago. We'll see if the new showrunner could fix IF, and Daredevil has the potential to be as great as the last two seasons. And like a lot of people have said, Punisher seems to be in good hands, so I'm not worried about that one.

@Toecutter - Yeah. It felt like here they really doubled down on the powers aspect when the original did such a great job being this noir tale that just so happened to include people with powers. I was really hoping for them learning lessons from the first season and really delivering a superb season 2 like what the showrunners did with Dexter season 2.

Loved the 1st, couldn't get interested after the first episode of the 2nd season...

@CapA - Yeah. It was weird when it came out and people were praising it's portrayal of the Whizer. And I was like "really? In this show he was barely defined and mostly a joke you'd only fully get by knowing obscure Marvel characters".

@Origame - Imagine a Squadron Supreme movie or a HBO Supreme Power mini-serie. I want to see that Whizzer.

@CapA - I don't know. I really don't mind this. I mean, how many audiences are gonna take a superhero named "the Whizzer" with like mongoose blood seriously?
CapA

@Origame - The name never bothered me (not being American/English helps) and I would like to see that dark version of the JLA on screen in the future.

@CapA - Yeah but here this character would be a laughing stock (the name is another word for peeing, in case you didn't know).

@Origame - I did know that, but when the good names for speedsters are all already taken, watchugunadoo...

@CapA - name him quickie. That's still better than the equivalent of pee man.

Hellcat is so close I can almost taste it...

...and yet, I know it will be like pulling teeth for Rosenberg to put her in a costume.

@Spock0Clock - Yep. Going by the rest of these Netflix shows, I've learned to not get my hopes up with the costumes. They can't even put IF in a [frick]ing mask.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 5/28/2018, 3:40 AM
@Toecutter - I don't really get worked up about the Iron Fist mask (to me, the single most important iconic elements are the chest tattoo and the glowing fist). Lacking a secret identity or even a substantial desire to represent K'un-Lun, it makes sense he wouldn't want to wear that particular uniform.

But Trish has a metric-shit-ton of hang-ups about her identity and (unlike most alter-egos) is instantly recognizable to strangers on the street, so if anyone needs a mask for vigilantism, it's her.

(...Though, knowing Rosenberg, I'm sure the angle they'll go with Hellcat, if they ever really explore it, is as a super-reality-show as a revival of Trish's career. And... that's not terrible in theory, but it's not scratching my desperate itch for more traditional superheroics.)

@Spock0Clock - Makes sense.

Although, I would still like to see the suit.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 5/28/2018, 4:20 AM
@Toecutter - And there's no shame in that, whatsoever.
Asturgis
Asturgis - 5/28/2018, 5:40 AM
@Spock0Clock - I wouldn't be surprised if they went the classical and uninspired way, which would have Hellcat start being a vigilante and almost killing every criminal she tangles with, and Jessica having reluctantly to stop her while on a case only to realize it's Trish. She won't be the villain, of course, but that could be the beginning of the season. I wouldn't be surprised. Unless they decide to completely brush off the fact that she's now a murderer, as they did with Karen.

@Unites - I am also positively disposed toward the concept of receiving your cray cray.

Trish has become such un unlikable character during season 2 that I don't know how they're gonna fix her, honestly. She's on the perfect path to become her mother, who I wanted to murder every time she was on screen.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 5/28/2018, 5:52 AM
@Asturgis - agreed. She went from being the character I was most looking forward to in S2 to the one I never wanted to see again.
Asturgis
Asturgis - 5/28/2018, 9:15 AM
@HeavyMetal4Life - Honestly, it's safe to say everyone was rooting for her to kill her own mom, instead of Jessica's.
ScionStorm
ScionStorm - 5/28/2018, 4:15 PM
@Asturgis - Season 3 is going to be a major shift. Trish has always idolized Jessica's power and insisted she should be doing more with it. But Jessica is Jessica. now that Trish has powers of her own season 3 for Trish is going to be Trish putting her money where her mouth is and being forced to confront her fantasy of being a vigilante with the hard truth of Marvel Netflix's idea of reality.

No thanks. Show killed itself with season 2.

hummingbird68 - 5/28/2018, 10:12 AM
@HeavyMetal4Life - I felt the same about Arrow season 3 and 4 and yet things got better ..... maybe its a show that is just not for you, more character driven and far less action.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 5/28/2018, 10:37 AM
@hummingbird68 - if by character driven you mean the complete deconstruction of characters, then yeah, I'm not a fan of that.
