MOON KNIGHT Season 2 Rumored To Include Another Kang The Conqueror Variant

While Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce plans for Moon Knight season 2, a new report suggests the show would feature a noteworthy appearance from yet another Kang the Conqueror Variant...

Despite being a little chaotic (which some might argue was fitting for a series about a character with multiple personalities), Moon Knight proved to be a fun ride when it hit Disney+ last year.

Oscar Isaac has made it clear he didn't sign a long-term deal with Marvel Studios but seems keen to reprise the role. As of right now, the official word is that Moon Knight was a "limited series," but it would be baffling for that big Jake Lockley tease to be addressed in anything other than a second season.

The Cosmic Circus definitely seems confident that one is on the way, anyway, revealing that they've heard Kang will somehow factor into it.

This is almost certainly a reference to Rama-Tut, a Variant we first met in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's mid-credits scene. In the comic books, he was a Kang that travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt and got stuck, making the best of a bad situation by ruling that period before fooling the Fantastic Four into freeing him.

With all signs pointing to Rama-Tut, The Centurion, and Immortus taking centre stage in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Moon Knight season 2 would arguably be the perfect place to flesh out at least one of them.

Many fans were baffled by the decision not to include a Rama-Tut reference in the show's first batch of episodes, though Head Writer Jeremy Slater later revealed that there was a time the villain did receive at least a mention. That was cut for unknown reasons.

As always, it's best to take a rumour like this with a pinch of salt, particularly as Moon Knight hasn't been officially renewed as of yet. With Marvel Studios said to be looking to get back to quality over quantity, it's also hard to say where a second season could fit into the Multiverse Saga without further delays.

Stay tuned for updates.

I kinda doubt we'll see Moon Knight season 2 before 2026, so having Rama-Tut show up is gonna feel out of place if Kang Dynasty/Secret Wars already happened and the Multiverse is wrapped up.

@IronMan616 -

But...they kang't.

Kang is only going to have an impact in this new saga if he is actually capable of beating any of the Avengers he goes up against.

He’s already been beaten by Ant-Man, not to mention a Loki variant killed a Kang variant. If we just keep getting one Kang variant after another being defeated by an MCU character, then this threat is very non-threatening.

MCU has really forgotten the importance of stakes.

@Goochmiester - exactly.

The ending of ant man is like "look at all these kangs" and you gotta say, if ant man can defeat him than him popping up all over the place will be more of an annoyance than a threat.

It should require a team of heroes or the most powerful hero giving it their all to defeat one Kang. Then an army of them would be a threat.

@Origame - if you want him to be like thanos then sure. But we already had that 3 times. They assembled for loki, they brought in allies for ultron, and they amassed the biggest army for thanos

Kang has always been a PERSISTENT annoyance. But a threat that can't be taken lightly. If he wins, game over. But as just a man with advanced technology and knowledge far surpassing any avenger, he's a super villain

@Origame - It's weird to me how everyone always complains about Ant-man beating Kang because it's such an oversimplification.
Ant-Man, Wasp, Cassie, Hank, but mostly the army of ants beat Kang.
Scott was never going to win it alone and he didn't.
He only stands a chance when Kang is stripped of his tech and even then Kang damn near kills him if it wasn't for Wasp.
On top of that, Kang confirms that he's killed countless Avengers including at least one variant of Thor.

@Goochmiester - not really... He Who Remains allowed himself to be killed and it was to set up the stakes...

Kang was only beaten after a lot of collaboration between heroes and the army of ants. He would have killed Scott and he confirmed he's killed multiple Avengers including a Thor variant. Admittedly it would help to show him kill one of our Avengers and maybe that should have been Scott (as much as I love him) but the point for now was thinking they beat Kang and the question of if they did.
Origame

@Vigor - "a threat that can't be taken lightly" considering he was beat by ant man, yes. We can take him lightly. He's supposed to be the villain of the next 2 avengers movies. Only Thanos has proven to be a threat large enough to require 2 team ups to defeat. Not to mention he's meant to be a multiversal threat, which is infinitely greater than the universal threat that was Thanos.

Also, what's that technology and intelligence gonna do when it can't top ant man and a bunch of ants? Scott was never shown to be an overly intelligent avenger, and while hank pym is a genius, all he did was find the ants. And said ants didn't demonstrate their type 2 civilization in order to defeat Kang and instead just charged him. Power wise his tech isn't gonna stand up to captain marvel, Thor, or scarlet witch. Intelligence wise I'd say most can beat him, and that's ignoring Reed Richard's will be introduced soon.

@Slotherin - wow. Team ant man that struggled with ghost managed to beat the next big bad of the mcu. Really making it out as so much better🙄

Oh but we can't forget the big deciding factor: ANTS! 🤦‍♂️
Vigor
Vigor - 3/14/2023, 10:06 AM
@Origame - this Kang was stripped of his greatest asset, time
All he had were his army and his weapons.

The next encounter with Kang won't be so easily bested by a horde of giant smart ants
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 10:16 AM
@Vigor - except from now on we're just gonna see him as the guy who got beat by an army of ants.

Besides, what's time gonna do for him when the whole point of time travel here is that it creates branching realities?
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/14/2023, 10:31 AM
@Origame - we've already seen he's capable of just decimating those realities via the TVA
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/14/2023, 10:33 AM
@Origame - I mean, Ghost should be a struggle... and also only Scott and Hope were taking her on. There wasn't as much back up and they were on the run trying to make it seem like Scott was still under house arrest.
Fogs
Fogs - 3/14/2023, 10:34 AM
@Slotherin - Congrats to you, I've already quit trying to explain this kind of thing already. People just want to hate every small MCU aspect by now.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/14/2023, 10:34 AM
@Origame - but again, it wasn't just ants.
This is the problem of oversimplification.
It was technologically advanced highly sentient ants in the Quantum Realm.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/14/2023, 10:36 AM
@Fogs - well, I [frick] with someone else at least trying to get it..
Also, side note... that Ed the Head icon ya got there? On point.
I just saw Maiden on their Legacy of the Beast tour back in October and it was a dream come true.
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 10:36 AM
@Slotherin - he didn't even decimate them. He took the variants out then put them in a random spot for his cloud dog to destroy.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/14/2023, 10:37 AM
@Origame - oh yeah. True.
Though I thought the branches were still destroyed.
Granted that now leaves a headscratcher as to why even take the variants and do anything with them?
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 10:37 AM
@Slotherin - ghost should be a struggle...to ant man. But up against the actual avengers? No way. And Kang is meant to be an avengers level threat. Not a street level threat like ghost.
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 10:38 AM
@Slotherin - tell me this, what did those ants to that was so intelligent to defeat Kang? They literally just swarmed him, something ants in the real world do.
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 10:39 AM
@Slotherin - they specifically mentioned they need to prune the timeline before it gets too far. So it clearly can't destroy a full universe.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/14/2023, 10:55 AM
@Origame - context matters
Fogs
Fogs - 3/14/2023, 11:08 AM
@Slotherin - It's from the "A Matter of Life and Death" album.

Cheers! Watched more of their shows than I'm able to remember tbh, lol. Always great tho.
Vigor
Vigor - 3/14/2023, 11:18 AM
@Origame - you're going to remember him as the one beat by ants, even if they show him destroying entire worlds and crippling avengers in future movies?
I say you just give the movie makers some time (pun unintended) on their vision.
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 11:34 AM
@Slotherin - ...and what context am I missing?
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2023, 11:35 AM
@Vigor - well you know what they say about first impressions...
Slotherin
Slotherin - 3/15/2023, 6:49 PM
@Origame - the context is Kang's shields were taken out by MODOK and he was then swarmed by ants his own size.
It wasn't just being defeated by Ant-Man, it was a series of circumstances
Origame
Origame - 3/15/2023, 7:20 PM
@Slotherin - those ants were clearly breaking through.

Besides, modok was already beat by ant man so it doesn't even matter much.
