There have been rumblings for months now that Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman, and Lightyear composer Michael Giacchino would step behind the camera to helm Werewolf by Night. Believed to be a Disney+ Halloween special, nothing has been revealed about the project beyond a few cast members.

During a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Giacchino confirmed that he is indeed directing Werewolf by Night. He also shared an update on how work is progressing on the special.

"I've been having a blast. It’s an incredibly challenging process. I love it," the filmmaker revealed. "Everyday, I've been having fun working on it and we're in the middle of it. Hopefully, very soon we’ll share a lot more about it. Yeah. There's not much I can't say other than I’m having a good time and I am working on something that I love. So, that's a win-win right there."

The hope had been that Werewolf by Night might make his MCU debut in Moon Knight, but there's always a chance Marc Spector might show up in this special. Mahershala Ali's Blade is also rumoured to appear, while there's been talk of Elsa Bloodstone showing up for the first time too.

Marvel Studios is embracing the supernatural as we head deeper into Phase 4, and this special (which doesn't appear to be a limited series) is likely to better explain what comes next. We've seen plenty of aliens in the MCU, but even after a zombie Doctor Strange recently showed up, things are going to get even more bonkers once werewolves and vampires start appearing!

Werewolf by Night doesn't currently have a premiere date.

Hoping for an actual Werewolf design this time, more akin to Van Helsing ('04) than others like Wolf ('94), HP3 ('04), or those Twilight dogs. Hell, draw from anime/games and make him like WereGarurumon or Jon Talbain, why not? Those designs were great!

OT:
Top Gun 2 beat Dr strange 2 domestically (398 million as of now) to the 400 million mark, in half the time. 400 million domestic and 781 worldwide, so 381 foreign. That foreign number will also pass 400, I see it reaching at least 500 foreign. Domestic? 600, not a penny less. Yea I see it reaching 1.1 billion. Crazy legs

If you think just 999 million, nah. It’s gonna cross the finish line

As a big fan of him, I hate to say that I found his Dominion and Batman scores lackluster, especially the former.. of course there's so much wrong with that movie it's an afterthought
